Other kids grew up watching TV. I grew up playing PC games; constantly. And what's the game that stands out as my all time favourite? Privateer!! - no doubt about it. Limping back to base on a few thrusters after a completing all missions across 5 nav points with no repair droid, fearful that another encounter will definitely be the end of me and my hard earned credits... ahh... bliss!
Actually, learning how to balance the memory and device driver requirements in Autoexec.bat and config.sys just to get the game running is pretty much what molded me into an IT Professional twenty years later! Thank god (and Chris Roberts) I was able to have a great career after playing PC games my whole life and never doing homework! I win - again!! :)
