While most saw it as a crumbling remnant of mid-tier fabrication efforts, a handful of keen-eyed operatives saw something else — potential.

Among them was a charismatic risk-broker and ex-military contractor named Eckhart Thane. A man known more for his connections than his discretion, Eckhart had carved a niche for himself in off-the-record contracting work. But the constant flux of freelance ops had its limits, and Eckhart wanted more than credits — he wanted infrastructure.

The Founding of the Bank
Seeing the repetitive patterns in high-yield contract fulfillment surrounding Dupree, Eckhart quietly funneled his earnings and formed a private financial enclave. Backed by a consortium of operatives, smugglers, and enterprising mercenaries, he established the Bank of Dupree, a fully private institution with zero formal affiliations — and even fewer questions asked.

Officially, the bank was created to “serve industrial workers and contract agents operating within the outer Stanton corridors.” In practice, it became a discreet liquidity node, allowing operatives to store, move, and multiply earnings with unparalleled efficiency. Investments were made into high-risk “liquidation services,” “targeted asset recovery,” and “dynamic redistribution ventures.”
