The United Nations Space Alliance (UNSA) is an international political organization that handles matters related to trade, travel, land claims, and all efforts relating to human space colonization. Their military force is represented by the Solar Associated Treaty Organization (SATO)

History

The UNSA navy consists of 21 faster-than-light (FTL) capable ships, far smaller than the UET’s approximately 60 FTL capable vessels. This may have reflected a “quality over quantity approach” – for example, the UNSA Apollo, a destroyer, had at least 22 confirmed kills against UET Warships, while carrier UNSA ALTALS would later destroy a large number of enemy ships and structures during the UNSA’s war with the UET. However, the UNSA’s smaller fleet size was also down to internal disputes – the UNSA had been reluctant to challenge the UET’s growing military power, with politics leading to the threat being ignored for years due to an inability to get any agreement on a response, allowing the UET to become increasingly brazen until it was too late.

Manifesto

The UNSA was created as a means to control and monitor off-world colonies in order to obtain resources to maintain Earth’s geo-engineered atmosphere, which was necessary for resource shortages and climate change on Earth.

The UNSA was founded after the Secession Wars 30 years before the events of The of the dressing enemy threat, when Earth lost control of Mars, its moons, and several other moons in the process. The UNSA owns a military force equal in strength to those operated by the unknown enemy, though, unlike the unknown enemy, the UNSA military is 100% volunteer and we have reason to believe that the unknown enemy threat is all capable men who are conscripted from age 12. This leads to of the (UET) unknown enemy threat, having 900% more soldiers per capita than the UNSA. However, since the UNSA is significantly more populated than the UET, the overall total numbers between these two forces should be somewhat equal.
