Our mission is simple: profit, power, and purpose. We transport goods where others won’t, and we hunt those who think they can escape justice—or our blaster sights. No job is too big, no risk too great, and no enemy too dangerous. We fight when we must, deal when it benefits us.
The Unbound – History
Origins (2890s–2910s)
The Unbound began as a loose network of renegades and disenfranchised spacers during the late 29th century, when the UEE tightened its grip on frontier systems. Former haulers, miners, and mercenaries—each burned by corrupt officials or megacorp greed—found one another in the shadows of Stanton’s shipping lanes and Pyro’s lawless stations. They shared a single conviction: no chain holds forever.
The Chain Break (2924)
A decisive moment came in 2924, when a UEE trade embargo choked the Nyx system. A covert strike team—later immortalized as the “Chain Breakers”—sabotaged a heavily-guarded customs depot, freeing dozens of impounded civilian ships and vanishing without a trace. Their crimson sigil of a shattered chain was spray-painted across the station walls. From that day forward, “The Unbound” became more than rumor.
Rise of the Crimson Circuit (2940s)
Through the 2940s, the group evolved from scattered cells into a loose syndicate. Smuggling routes stretched from the dying embers of Pyro to the bustling black markets of Terra. They specialized in “liberation contracts”—extracting ships, goods, or even people from oppressive hands, often selling them back to their rightful owners or redistributing them for a price.
Authorities called them pirates. Locals called them heroes. To the Unbound, the labels meant nothing.
Present Day (2955+)
Now operating across Stanton, Pyro, and the developing frontier of Orion, The Unbound remain leaderless by design. Cells communicate through encrypted relays and the unmistakable crimson-on-black sigil of the broken chain. Whether smuggling, raiding, or striking at megacorp convoys, each action carries the same message: no empire, corporation, or warlord can keep the stars in shackles.
We are not citizens. We are not subjects. We are not property.
We are the fracture in the chain, the spark in the void, the whisper that no empire can silence.
Governments write laws to cage us. Corporations build walls to own us. Pirates, soldiers, and so-called “authorities” try to brand us outlaws.
Let them.
We answer to no banner but the black and crimson. We move where we will—across the lanes of Stanton, the embers of Pyro, the forgotten reaches of Orion.
We are smugglers when survival demands it, raiders when the greedy grow fat, liberators when the oppressed call out. Profit keeps our engines warm, but freedom drives the jump.
Our creed is simple: No chains. No masters. No limits.
The stars belong to those bold enough to seize them.
Break your chains. Join the Unbound.
