The Origins of DΛRKLIGHT

The Battle of Vega II—2945
The UEES Retribution, under Admiral Ernst Bishop’s command, stood as the last beacon against the relentless Vanduul invasion of Vega II. As Admiral Bishop led the defense against the relentless Vanduul assault, the UEES Retribution, a Bengal-class carrier, faced imminent destruction.

Just a week before, a civilian research vessel found refuge aboard the UEES Retribution, after bieng attacked by Vanduul scouts as all civilian traffic was restricted. During this final stand, this diverse civilian group of explorers, pilots, engineers, medics, miners, and salvagers were caught in the storm of Vanduul fire laying waste to the UEE Fleet.

As Admiral Bishop’s evacuation orders echoes, this group realized prisoners were still trapped in the brig forgotten as chaos unfolded. Against all odds, they breached the cells, freeing smugglers, pirates, and outcasts who, despite their pasts, deserved the same chance at survival. Together, they made their way through falling debris and fires back to the research vessel, launching from the hangar just in the nick of time, as the Retribution began to break up and collapse in explosions.

Into the Unknown

As their ship escaped, a catastrophic miscalculation in their damaged jump drive’s trajectory hurled them into an unstable wormhole, distorting time and space. When they finally emerged, they found themselves stranded in the desolate Tohil System, far beyond UEE-controlled space. Supplies were limited, but adversity forged unity former adversaries became allies, bound not by faction or law, but by survival and teamwork.

The Birth of DARKLIGHT

Surrounded by the abyss of deep space, illuminated only by a distant, piercing star, they saw themselves reflected in the cosmos a balance between shadow and light. From this revelation, DΛRKLIGHT was born, and built on inclusion, strength, and the duality of order and chaos forged in teamwork and friendship.

As DARKLIGHT grew, its most skilled and dedicated members set themselves apart not through hierarchy, but through action. These individuals became members of Starborn Squadron 111, a select force embodying dedicatcation, teamwork, mastery, and unwavering commitment.

The Rise of the Starborn Council

To ensure DARKLIGHT remained unified, not controlled, the Starborn Council emerged not as rulers, but as guides, bringing members together in shared purpose. Seated at The Holo Desk, the Council fosters collaboration, wisdom, and the continued evolution of DARKLIGHT’s legacy.

From the ruins of war, an ideology was born one that thrives on balance, purpose, and the endless frontier of the verse.

Light Side (Lawful) Roles

1. Hauler: – Description: Responsible for transporting goods and cargo across the verse. Ensure the safe and timely delivery of valuable items. – Activities: Cargo hauling, supply chain logistics, and trade route management.

2. Miner: – Description: Extract valuable minerals and resources from asteroids and planetary surfaces. Utilize mining ships and tools to gather raw materials. – Activities: Mining operations, resource extraction, and refining.

3. Salvager: – Description: Recover valuable items from wrecks and derelict ships. Clean up the universe and find hidden treasures along the way. – Activities: Salvage missions, recovery operations, and resource gathering.

4. Bounty Hunter: – Description: Track down and apprehend wanted criminals. Ensure justice is served by capturing or eliminating targets. – Activities: Bounty hunting, target tracking, and apprehension missions.

5. Mercenary: – Description: Undertake challenging combat missions to support various organizations and protect their assets. – Activities: Combat missions, security operations, and tactical support.

6. Courier: – Description: Deliver packages and important items to various locations. Ensure the safe and prompt delivery of goods. – Activities: Package delivery, logistical support, and efficient transportation.

7. Medic: – Description: Provide emergency medical assistance and tactical Medivacs. Heal injured or downed players and NPCs using medical ships and tools. – Activities: Medical rescue missions, medivac operations, and providing medical support during combat.

Dark Side (Unlawful) Roles

1. Pirate: – Description: Engage in piracy by attacking and looting cargo ships. Operate in lawless areas to seize valuable goods. – Activities: Piracy, cargo ship raids, and black market trading.

2. Assassin: – Description: Take on high-stakes assassination missions to eliminate key targets for a hefty reward. Execute missions with precision and stealth. – Activities: Assassination contracts, covert operations, and eliminating high-value targets.

3. Scavenger: – Description: Recover valuable items from wrecks and abandoned ships in lawless areas. Avoid security patrols while scavenging for resources. – Activities: Scavenging missions, recovery operations, and resource gathering.

4. Smuggler: – Description: Transport illegal goods across the verse, evading law enforcement and security checkpoints. Safeguard the passage of contraband. – Activities: Smuggling operations, contraband transport, and evading security.

5. Data Hacker: – Description: Hack into secure systems to steal valuable and sensitive data, including crime stats, personal information, and classified documents. Disabling Communication Arrays to facilitate criminal activity. – Core Activities: – Hacking into secure networks and databases. – Using data encryption and decryption tools. – Gathering intelligence through surveillance and espionage. – Disabling Communication Arrays to facilitate criminal activity.
