History
Back on a game called “Toribash”,
An ragdoll physics, turn based fighting game, Xer01ne was recruited by a community of martial artists, aiming to use the game as a tool to teach the merit of being a martial artist to impressionable young players. Inspired by this resolution, Xer01ne set his journey out onto mastering the system taught within the community for the game and soon replaced the former leader, Footlox, as the new leader of Spyder House.
Spyder House today aims to be a multi-game mixed martial arts community focused on the unity of martial artists
And the spread of The Way throughout the cosmos through online instruction, repositories of lessons, and free personal correspondence coaching by seeking out those interested on online video games and otherwise. We believe the practice of the martial arts to be amongst the most important of physical activities, for the protection of self, the development of the body, and the fortification of the mind. As Musashi Miyamoto said in the 5 scrolls, it is not specifically within the way of martial arts, the way of tea, or the way of carpentry that you will come to understand “The Way”; but,
“If you know the way broadly you will see it in everything.”
It is not only through the practice of martial arts that we learn to sharpen the self; but, through the discipline and spirit we learn through martial arts to imbue into our every waking moment. As we read, study, work, and pursue other things in life.
About Our Leader:
Xer01ne himself has been a martial artist of 15 years. First starting in Taekwondo as a child to honor the family tradition of earning a rank of mastery in a Korean martial art for every first born son of the family. Later on in life, deciding that the rulesets and competitions within traditional martial arts did not reflect a style he believed that would offer incentive toward practicality in a no-rules street fight. This led to the beginning of his mixed martial arts journey as he began exploring literature and training at different MMA gyms around his state to learn as much as he could. Xer0 was particularly inspired by the Tao of Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee, Gorin no Sho by Miyamoto Mushashi, and BJ Penn’s Mixed Martial Arts: The Book of Knowledge. This led to Xer0 seeking training in Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, boxing, wrestling, and Judo for the next 10 years of his life. Along the way, he had also sought off and on instruction in Jeet Kune Do, Savate, Silat, Kali, Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and Kyokushin Karate. Currently, Xer0 now prepares for MMA competition after a long layoff from his last Muay Thai fight due to freak injuries, Xer0 also teaches martial arts and self defense to fighters, security officers, and private investigators.

Charter
Internal Conduct
1.1. Free -To-Join and Free-To-Leave clan policy.
1.1.A. Please ping me or another black belt to invite you to the clan
1.2. In-Game Names Only in all communications
1.3. Respect flows up. Lower ranked students will respect and listen to higher ranked members.
1.4. Knowledge flows down. Higher ranked members will aid, mentor, and moderate the lower ranked students.
In-Game Conduct
2.1. Degenerative language is discouraged unless the aggressor expresses it first.
2.2. There will be no usage of any slurs or insults that otherwise serve to exercise prejudice against a specific demographic.
2.3. All arguments and discourse will be expected to be upheld to Aristotelean logic. If you are holding a standard any less, you are not arguing, you are just flaming.
“In an argument, you may silence your opponent by pressing an advantage of strength or of wealth, or of education. But you do not really convince him. Though he is no longer saying anything, in his heart he still keeps to his opinion, the only way to make him change that opinion is to speak quietly and reasonably. When he understands that you are not trying to defeat him, but only to find the truth, he will listen to you and perhaps accept what you tell him.”
- Jigoro Kano
3. Character Development
3.1. If Spyder House is open to everyone, then it is inherently open to their ideas as well. No matter how under-educated or inappropriate an idea may be, it can be expressed freely without the fear of language censorship. This way, just like in-real-life, the idea can change as it is tested through public discourse.
3.2. Equally, ideas may be challenged without fear of censorship. It should be understood that if an idea is to be taken seriously, it should be communicated with sound logic and politeness.
3.2a. If you believe an idea will be an exception to this rule, that should say enough to you on whether you would express it or not.
3.3. Arguments are inevitable. If an unstable dialogue escalates then the parties involved will be moved to the-pit , a temporary channel to communicate and find the central truth without distractions from others.
3.3a. The pit will also be used for any and all disciplinary actions/conversations.
3.4. As a result of the above, the only enforced rules that are ban-worthy if infracted are as follows:
3.4.a. Don’t spam.
3.4.b. Don’t lie maliciously
3.4.c. Do not make any serious threats of violence in the context of real life.
3.4.d. Do not use intentionally hateful and/or discriminatory language.
3.5. We are all here to learn from one-another. Debate is encouraged, but all voices deserve a platform here.
