SPACE HUNTERS is a (mostly) South African (ZA) org specializing in Bounty Hunting (PvE/PvP), delivering targets dead or alive. We also dabble in piracy and happily embrace the “murder hobo” life. If you thrive on chaos and credits, join the ruthless hunt.
THE CHRONICLES OF THE SPACE HUNTERS
ORIGINS: THE MERCENARY START (2935 – 2945 SET)
The SPACE HUNTERS organization did not begin as an outlaw empire but as a highly disciplined, private military contractor group. Its founders—a cohort of highly skilled ex-military and security personnel, primarily of South African origin—sought to escape the bureaucratic stagnation of the UEE. They established their initial base of operations in the Stanton system, offering hyper-efficient protection and retrieval services to mining operations and independent traders who couldn’t rely on official security.
Defining Shift: The defining moment came when a UEE security fleet interfered with a high-stakes, legally contracted bounty retrieval, resulting in the loss of the target and a massive financial penalty for the founders. This event shattered their faith in regulated law and sparked the doctrine of self-interest above all law.
THE SHADOW YEARS: PIRACY AND PRAGMATISM (2945 – 2950 SET)
With trust in the system dissolved, the SPACE HUNTERS shifted from protection to predation. They quickly recognized that the source of the contract mattered less than the value of the target. This period solidified the second pillar of their operations: PIRACY (The Pragmatic Edge).
They became feared for their surgical, almost corporate approach to theft. High-value ships were interdicted, cargo was expertly extracted, and the crew was disabled—not massacred, unless necessary—to minimize witnesses and unnecessary heat.
Establishing The Apex: This era required a hardened leadership structure to manage resources and split profits, leading to the formal creation of The Apex council to handle all strategic and diplomatic (or anti-diplomatic) relations.
THE DOCTRINE OF CHAOS: BIRTH OF THE MURDER HOBO
As the organization matured, a psychological shift occurred. Hunting and raiding became monotonous. The rank-and-file realized that the greatest thrill was not just the profit, but the exercise of overwhelming power.
The Murder Hobo pillar was born—a doctrine that sanctioned unconstrained, unsanctioned violence purely for the thrill, practice, and reputation-building. These were not raids for credits, but skirmishes for the soul. This practice served two critical purposes:
Skill Retention: Keeping all pilots and marines at peak aggression and readiness.
Psychological Warfare: Establishing a fearsome reputation that discouraged resistance during legitimate bounties or pragmatic piracy.
THE CURRENT STATUS (295X SET)
Today, the SPACE HUNTERS are a formidable, independent power. They operate across the spectrum:
As Hunters: They are often paid obscene sums by powerful entities (corporate rivals, desperate citizens) to capture or eliminate targets too politically radioactive for official forces.
As Outlaws: They are a known menace to established shipping lanes, capable of mobilizing fast, lethal fleets.
The organization remains culturally tied to its South African origins, valuing resilience, loyalty to the pack, and a dark sense of humor about the brutality of the ‘verse. They are not merely criminals; they are a necessary evil that uses chaos as currency.
THE HUNTER’S CREED: MANIFESTO OF THE SPACE HUNTERS
ORIGIN AND DOCTRINE
We are the SPACE HUNTERS. Our foundations were forged far from the polished spires of the UEE, rooted in the grit and resilience of South Africa. We hold no allegiance to flags or corporations. Our loyalty is to the contract, the crew, and the undeniable truth of the ‘verse: the strongest survive, and only credits matter.
We are the solution when conventional justice fails. We are the problem when opportunity calls. We are not just mercenaries; we are the apex predator.
I. THE CORE DIRECTIVE: THE HUNT
A. THE PURSUIT: Our primary focus is the Bounty. Whether the target is a desperate criminal (PvE) or a well-armed, arrogant rival (PvP), our methods are uncompromising. The contract is our sacred text, and delivery—dead or alive—is the only satisfactory conclusion. Failure is not an option; it is a liability.
B. EFFICIENCY: We operate with professional ruthlessness. We utilize superior planning, advanced reconnaissance, and overwhelming force. Our equipment is maintained, our skills are honed, and our tactics are always adaptive.
II. THE PRAGMATIC EDGE: PIRACY
The lines between hunter and hunted are often drawn in sand. We are pragmatists. When high-value cargo is ripe for the taking, or when a vulnerable supply lane offers greater short-term profit than a tedious contract, the bounty temporarily waits.
We do not apologize for seizing opportunity. Piracy is not a moral failing; it is a financial strategy. We take what is necessary to fund the Hunt and maintain our operational dominance.
III. THE TRUE NATURE: THE MURDER HOBO MANDATE
The universe is vast, and sometimes, the only way to feel alive is to break something.
We are not always motivated by logic or profit. There are days when the pursuit is fueled by pure, unadulterated chaos. We embrace the “Murder Hobo” spirit: unsanctioned skirmishes, random aggression, and the pursuit of trouble purely for the entertainment of it. We are the storm, and we reserve the right to deploy indiscriminate force to wherever we feel it is most dramatically required.
IV. REQUIREMENTS & LOYALTY
Skill Over Talk: Your proficiency in combat, piloting, or strategy will be your worth. We tolerate no dead weight.
Adaptability: Be ready to transition seamlessly from a professional bounty operation to a chaotic, unsanctioned raid.
The Crew: Our only true loyalty is within this organization. Betrayal is met with swift, overwhelming, and creative retribution.
We are the SPACE HUNTERS. Get in, get the score, and leave the carnage behind.
SPACE HUNTERS CHARTER & MANIFESTO
I. IDENTITY AND ORIGINS
EST. SOUTH AFRICA
Identity: Born from the grit and resilience of South Africa, we are an organization that values results over politics. We hold no allegiance to the UEE or corporate overlords.
Philosophy: In a universe of chaos, the strongest survive. We are not just mercenaries; we are the apex predators. Our loyalty belongs only to the contract and the crew.
II. THE THREE PILLARS OF OPERATIONS
THE HUNT (Bounty Hunting): PvE/PvP. We track, we engage, we deliver. Dead or alive.
PIRACY (The Pragmatic Edge): When high-value cargo floats by unguarded, we take it. It’s just business.
MURDER HOBO (The True Nature): Sometimes, we choose chaos. Unsanctioned skirmishes keep our skills sharp and the authorities distracted.
III. CHAIN OF COMMAND (6 RANKS)
The hierarchy is built on competence. You eat what you kill, and you rise by proving your worth and commitment to the org.
1. THE APEX (Leadership)
The founding council. They hold absolute authority over strategic direction, alliances, and high-level bounty contracts. To defy the Apex is to invite The Blade.
2. WARLORD (Senior Officers)
Battle-hardened commanders who lead major operations (Raids, Org Wars). They have the authority to issue orders to all lower ranks and manage organizational assets. They are the right hand of the Apex.
3. REAVER (Elite Specialists)
The most dangerous pilots and marines in the org. These members have mastered the art of the “Murder Hobo.” They are often tasked with solo high-risk assassinations or leading deep-space piracy runs.
4. HUNTER (Core Member)
The backbone of the organization. A fully patched member who has proven their loyalty and combat proficiency. They share full cuts of the profits and have access to the org’s armory and support network.
5. TRACKER (Junior Member)
Operatives who have passed probation but are still honing their skills. Their primary role is reconnaissance, scouting trade routes, and providing support fire for the Hunters and Reavers. They speak less and listen more.
6. SCAVENGER (Recruit/Probation)
New Recruits. You are here to prove you aren’t a liability. You receive the lowest cut of the profit and are assigned high-risk support roles. Survive, learn, and maybe you’ll become a Hunter.
IV. CODE OF CONDUCT
Contract is King: Mission first. Personal vendettas second.
No Friendly Fire: Never engage a pack member unless authorized (training/duels).
Intel is Currency: Report all targets to command immediately.
Adaptability: Soldier, Pirate, Psycho—be whatever the situation requires.
V. DISCIPLINARY ACTION (THE BLADE)
Protocol V (Treason): Any member found guilty of treason will have an immediate, high-value PvP bounty placed on their head. We hunt our own traitors.
Motto: “We Take the Contract. We Claim the Chaos.”
