Forged in fire, polished by loyalty — the Obsidian Crown Fleet bends, but never breaks

History

The Fleet was born out of fire.

Before the Kingdom of Thuglandia was declared, Brixton Thuglas served as a battle-hardened commander on the UEE frontier. He rose to prominence during the Vanduul incursions, where hastily assembled defense flotillas fought desperate battles to shield border colonies. Brixton’s leadership became legendary when his small strike group managed to evacuate thousands of civilians under fire, holding the line long enough for transports to escape annihilation. His ships fought, bled, and in many cases burned, but the name Thuglas became synonymous with survival.

When King T.A. Thuglas I proclaimed the Kingdom of Thuglandia from aboard the captured Bengal carrier, he knew his new sovereignty would not last a single year without a fleet to guard it. The UEE would dismiss his claim, outlaws would test it, and the Vanduul would ignore it entirely. For this reason, the King turned to Brixton — both kin and proven commander — to forge a new fleet not of quantity, but of quality.

The first ships that rallied under Brixton’s banner were survivors of those frontier campaigns: scarred corvettes, battered escorts, and civilian haulers hastily refitted for war. These vessels, hardened by fire and crewed by those who had already stared into the jaws of the Vanduul and lived, became the nucleus of the Fleet.

From that day forward, the Fleet was more than just ships — it was a symbol. A brotherhood of vessels and captains who swore oaths to the Crown, bound not by numbers but by unbreakable loyalty. Their creed: “Where the Crown flies, we endure. Where the Crown fights, we prevail.”

Though modest in size, the Fleet’s reputation quickly grew. Pirates spoke of their precision strikes, traders sought their protection, and even the UEE grudgingly respected their discipline. To allies, they were the guardians of Thuglandia. To enemies, they were the mailed fist of the King’s will.

And at the center of it all stood ADM-Brixton Thuglas, not only a commander of ships, but the living reminder that the Kingdom itself was born in struggle, survived by resilience, and defended by those who had already faced extinction — and refused to yield.
