History

Origins and Formation (2921 – 2930)
In the wake of the Second Tevarin War, the galaxy was forever changed. The scars of war were still fresh, and the remnants of a fractured UEE military left vast stretches of space unprotected. Among the chaos, criminal syndicates flourished, and the law became a mere suggestion in the farthest reaches of the Empire. In these times, a small group of veterans—each with their own stories from the battlefield—came together with a shared vision: to create a security force that would serve as a guiding light in the lawless expanse of space.

Thus, in 2921, the Northstar Group was founded by a coalition of ex-UEE personnel, military tacticians, and independent security experts. They were driven by the belief that the chaos of the frontier needed strong, reliable protection, grounded in the highest standards of integrity. Taking their name from the North Star, a symbol of navigation and constancy, the Northstar Group vowed to uphold the law while offering an unwavering presence in regions where it was sorely needed.

The group began humbly, providing security for transport convoys and protecting local settlements in the Odin and Kellog systems. Their work was professional, their tactics refined, and their presence known as a symbol of safety amidst an ever-growing storm of piracy and violence.

Expansion and Fleet Development (2931 – 2940)
As the UEE’s resources were stretched thin, the Northstar Group expanded its operations. In 2931, the company secured its first major asset: a Polaris-class Corvette from RSI, marking a new era for the group. The Polaris became the backbone of Northstar’s operations, serving not only as a warship but also as a command center for high-risk missions across the frontier. Its powerful size 10 torpedoes and versatile hangar made it an invaluable asset in dealing with both piracy and hostile alien threats, giving Northstar the firepower and range needed to tackle larger security operations.

By the time 2940 rolled around, the Northstar Group had gained a reputation for handling the most dangerous assignments with discretion and effectiveness. They were involved in everything from convoy escort missions in Pyro to combat rescue operations in the Stanton system, all while maintaining an air of professionalism that earned them contracts with some of the most prominent megacorporations.

The Golden Age (2941 – 2950)
As the universe entered a new phase of economic prosperity in the 2940s, the Northstar Group capitalized on the opportunity by expanding both its client base and its fleet. In 2943, they secured their first Origin 890 Jump, a luxury spacecraft that would elevate their operations to a new level of exclusivity. The 890 Jump allowed Northstar to offer a range of high-end services, including VIP transport and corporate protection, all while maintaining the same level of tactical prowess they were known for.

With the 890 Jump in their fleet, Northstar expanded its portfolio to include the protection of high-profile dignitaries, wealthy corporate clients, and precious assets in transit. The group’s reputation grew as the premier provider of elite, multi-layered security services that combined top-tier personal protection with highly advanced military assets.

During this period, the Northstar Group also became involved in a series of clandestine operations, ranging from asset recovery missions to anti-piracy enforcement in the Radegast and Nyx systems. The introduction of advanced intelligence networks and covert operatives expanded their ability to stay ahead of criminal factions, earning them a near-legendary status within the UEE.

Challenges and Adversity (2951 – Present)
The late 2950s were a time of increasing pressure for the Northstar Group. With the Vanduul becoming a more significant threat in the Vega system and XenoThreat stepping up their operations across the Empire, Northstar found itself stretched thin. However, instead of retreating, the Group adapted and evolved.

Northstar adapted by doubling down on specialized security operations, offering combat training, fleet support, and smuggling interdiction services to deal with the growing criminal element in the galaxy. Their fleet expanded further to include a variety of specialized ships, including additional Polaris-class Corvettes, 890 Jumps, and even Retaliator for heavy-fire missions.

In 2951, Northstar made a strategic decision to take on more corporate espionage assignments, leveraging their expertise in tactical operations to gather intelligence and protect critical infrastructure for both public and private clients. They offered counter-piracy services to shipbuilders and research corporations working on cutting-edge technologies that required secure environments to thrive.

Despite these challenges, the Northstar Group remains steadfast in its mission to provide high-end security services across the galaxy. Today, it continues to maintain a professional network of mercenaries, tacticians, and operators, each selected for their unparalleled skill and commitment to the group’s values.

Today and the Future
In the present day, the Northstar Group stands as one of the most respected private security contractors in the galaxy. Their fleet, consisting of advanced ships like the Polaris and 890 Jump, serves as a symbol of their elite status. The group has evolved into a versatile, multi-faceted organization, offering services ranging from high-stakes rescue missions to corporate security and long-range operations in the most hostile environments of the galaxy.

The Northstar Group has grown to become a significant force in both military security and logistical support. While the universe continues to change and present new challenges, the Northstar Group remains ready to face whatever comes their way, guided by their founding principles of integrity, professionalism, and unwavering loyalty to their clients.

“Where others falter, Northstar leads the way.”
