Militia de Terra / MILITERA

The history of the Militia de Terra, colloquially known as Militera, is steeped in mystery and rebellion against the established order of the United Empire of Earth. The militia was founded in 2892 by a group of five individuals whose identities have faded into legend, save for one man by the name of Gyle. This syndicate emerged with a singular purpose: to combat corruption within the UEE, particularly focusing on the Terra system.

The original catalyst for the expansion of the Militia de Terra was the death of one of its founding members, Gyle Selenius. Gyle’s defiance against Terran authorities, culminating in a shootout on Planet Gen, led to his flight from justice. However, his escape ended in tragedy as his body was discovered suspended in the vacuum of space, far from Gen, with his ship missing. This incident, shrouded in mystery, galvanized the people of Terra and Gen, viewing Gyle as a martyr for their cause.

Following Gyle’s death, his illegitimate child, known as “Tikho”, assumed leadership of the syndicate in the following years. The name “Tikho,” means ‘quiet’ in Old Russian, reflecting the enigmatic nature of Militera’s leader. The child’s lineage and connection to Gyle Selenius further solidified their position within the Militia de Terra, and they assumed power once becoming of age.

Over the years, the ranks of the syndicate swelled, drawing in hundreds of recruits from Terra and beyond. Militera operatives expanded their influence beyond Terra, patrolling systems such as Kilian, Baker, Pyro, and Stanton. Despite their opposition to corruption within the UEE, Militera refrained from wanton violence against civilians, often leaving their victims with enough resources to safely return home. However, they didn’t hesitate to engage in lethal force when confronted by more hostile forces.

As the year 2954 dawns, the true objectives and motives of the Militia de Terra remain shrouded in secrecy. They operate as a clandestine force, offering their services to those in need of resources, security, or smuggling within their sphere of influence; for a price. Whether they seek to dismantle the corrupt elements of the UEE or pursue their own agenda, the Militia de Terra continues to operate on the fringes of society, a symbol of defiance against established power.
