History
Mikoshi’s Star was founded in 2947 by a group of disgruntled ex-military officers and seasoned mercenaries who saw a need for a more versatile, morally flexible security force in the Stanton system. Initially a small band of freelancers, they quickly earned a reputation for taking on high-risk, high-reward contracts that more conventional organizations deemed too dangerous or ethically ambiguous.
Their name, inspired by the ancient Japanese Mikoshi shrines, symbolized their dual commitment to tradition and mobility. Just as a Mikoshi is carried from place to place, so too did Mikoshi’s Star bring their unique brand of protection and warfare wherever needed.
By 2954, Mikoshi’s Star had established itself as a formidable force within the Stanton system and beyond, respected by allies and feared by enemies. However, internal strife and external pressures eventually led to their disbandment in 2956. The members went their separate ways, leaving behind a legacy shrouded in mystery and whispers.
Now, in 2964, a new generation seeks to revive Mikoshi’s Star. Led by the descendants of the original founders and veterans who remember the old ways, they aim to restore the organization to its former glory. Drawing on the wisdom of the past and the innovations of the present, they are determined to rebuild Mikoshi’s Star as a beacon of strength and versatility in the ‘verse.
The journey ahead is fraught with challenges, but with loyalty and a shared vision, they strive to make Mikoshi’s Star a name to be reckoned with once more.
