The birth of Ironclad Horizons in June of 2955 was preceded by the swift and decisive dissolution of its predecessor, the Sector Compliance Guard. Publicly, the SCG collapsed under the weight of apathy; the citizens of Stanton, weary of the endless “war against piracy,” showed little interest in funding yet another mercenary company fighting an unwinnable battle. The personnel, resources, and support simply never materialized.
Privately, the true reason was a fundamental shift in the soul of its commander. Mountain Warrior_35, already grappling with profound burnout from a lifetime of conflict, saw the futility of his old ways. The final catalyst for this change was a quiet meeting with the young, idealistic founder of a fledgling rescue team, Redline Response. In that idealist’s drive to save lives, Mountain Warrior saw a path forward that wasn’t paved with shell casings and wreckage.
He dissolved the SCG, retaining its core assets. He then founded Ironclad Horizons, an organization built not to destroy, but to create. Its purpose is not to wage war, but to build an industrial powerhouse so stable and prosperous that it becomes its own bastion of order, rendering the chaos of the fringe irrelevant.
The verse is locked in a vicious cycle. Power is measured by firepower, and stability is a fleeting moment between conflicts. We have seen firsthand that a war fought with guns alone is a war that never ends. The old way—the mercenary’s way—is a dead end, a promise of security that only perpetuates the fight.
We choose a different path. We believe true power is not in the ships you destroy, but in the foundations you build. It is forged in the searing heat of a refinery, measured in the steady flow of refined quantainium, and built upon the reliable delivery of vital cargo. Lasting security is a byproduct of prosperity, not the goal of a military campaign.
Ironclad Horizons is an industrial corporation. Our focus is the complete production pipeline: from the extraction of raw ore and the reclamation of derelicts to the refining of materials and their secure transport to market. We are miners, salvagers, haulers, and industrialists.
But we are not fools. The universe is a dangerous place, and the fortune we forge will inevitably attract those who seek to take it. We are not a mercenary outfit for hire, but we are unflinchingly prepared to defend what is ours. Our past has taught us how to build a shield of iron around our operations. We will protect our people, our assets, and our partners with the same ruthless efficiency that guides our industrial pursuits.
We do not seek conflict. We seek to build a future where it is necessary.
Charter of Ironclad Horizons
Ratified: June 2955
Filed By: Mountain Warrior_35, Founder
Preamble
This document establishes the guiding principles and operational framework of Ironclad Horizons [IH]. It marks a deliberate departure from the past. The Sector Compliance Guard was an endeavor born of a belief that stability could be imposed by force; its dissolution is an acknowledgment of that futility. A war fought with guns alone is a war that never ends.
We now choose a different path. This charter is founded on the conviction that true, lasting power is not in the ships you destroy, but in the foundations you build. It is forged in the searing heat of a refinery, measured in the steady flow of vital resources, and secured by the unwavering reliability of our enterprise. We trade the mercenary’s contract for the industrial ledger.
Article I: Designation and Motto
Name: The organization shall be henceforth known as Ironclad Horizons.
Motto: Our work and our vision are guided by the principle: “Fortune is Forged. Futures are Secured.”
Article II: The Ironclad Mandate
Primary Objective: To build an industrial powerhouse so stable and prosperous that it becomes its own bastion of order. Our purpose is to create, not to destroy.
Core Focus: Our operations are centered on the complete industrial production pipeline. We will engage in the extraction of raw ore, the reclamation of salvageable derelicts, the refining of materials, and their secure transport to market. We are miners, salvagers, haulers, and industrialists.
Stance on Conflict: Ironclad Horizons is not a mercenary company and does not accept external security contracts. We do not seek conflict. However, we are pragmatists operating in a dangerous universe. We will protect our people, our assets, and our designated partners with ruthless efficiency. The security of the enterprise is paramount.
Article III: Organizational Structure
Ironclad Horizons is structured into three vertically integrated divisions to ensure control and security at every stage of operation.
Extraction Division: The frontline of the enterprise. This division is responsible for all mining (asteroid and planetary) and salvage operations. It locates, harvests, and secures the raw resources that fuel the entire corporation.
Processing & Logistics Division: The heart of the machine. This division manages the refining of all raw materials into valuable, market-ready commodities. It further oversees the vast transportation network required to move resources and products between extraction sites, refineries, and points of sale.
Asset Security Division (ASD): The shield of Ironclad Horizons. Commanded directly by the Founder, the ASD is comprised of veteran pilots and operators. It is a strictly internal force with the following sole mandates:
To provide armed escorts and rapid-response security for all IH divisions.
To secure all IH facilities, vessels, and other high-value assets against internal and external threats.
Article IV: Special Protocols
The Redline Accord: Ironclad Horizons recognizes a formal partnership with the rescue organization, Redline Response. The founder of Redline Response represents a path of creation and preservation that inspired this new charter. In recognition of this, the Asset Security Division is authorized to reinforce Redline Response security teams upon official request, ensuring their life-saving work may continue under a shield of iron.
Article V: Enactment
Let this charter be the blueprint for our new foundation. Our legacy will not be measured in wreckage, but in the tonnes of ore refined, the contracts fulfilled, and the prosperity we build. We seek to forge a future where conflict is the exception, not the rule.
This Charter is hereby enacted and binding for all personnel of Ironclad Horizons.
Signed,
Mountain Warrior_35
