h3. Founding & Origins (2910–2920)
Hammer’s Vengeance was founded in 2910 by Commander Haldor “Hammer” Ursus, a former UEE Navy officer with a reputation for uncompromising decisions and battlefield improvisation. Dishonorably discharged after a failed deep-space supply op through Pyro left his convoy stranded and dozens of crew dead, Ursus was cast out, blamed, and forgotten by the chain of command.
But he didn’t stay forgotten.
Rather than disappear, Ursus built something new—something merciless. From a burned-out wreck in Bloom’s orbit, he gathered surviving veterans, outcasts, and fringe haulers into a brutal freight-and-firepower syndicate with one purpose: to never again be left behind, and to profit off the collapse of others.
What began as a vengeance-fueled salvage crew became a full-fledged Private Military Organization—hidden in plain sight beneath contracts, bribes, and scorched manifests.
Under Ursus’ command, Hammer’s Vengeance rose fast and dirty. While their public-facing operations specialized in freight protection, planetary reinforcement, and crisis logistics, their shadow business was built on high-value raids, strategic piracy, and conflict profiteering.
The UEE Navy—ever in need of disposable deniable assets—began issuing them privateering licenses through Naval Intelligence, allowing HV to strike “unaffiliated hostiles” with full legal cover. These contracts became a blank check for ambushes, seizures, and black-market insertions.
By the mid-2930s, HV was no longer just another PMC—it was a ruthless profit engine with military discipline, pirate instincts, and no illusions of loyalty to empire or ideology.
Now in 2955, Hammer’s Vengeance is entrenched across the Stanton and Pyro systems, with operations pushing into Nul, Nyx, and other unstable sectors.
In low orbit above Bloom, Orbituary Station serves as the group’s primary stronghold and logistical hub in Pyro. But it doesn’t belong to them.
Orbituary is owned and operated by the outlaw gang known as Rough and Ready—a fiercely independent group of smugglers, fixers, and salvagers with deep roots in Pyro’s underworld. Rather than claim the station outright, Hammer’s Vengeance forged an uneasy but functional alliance with Rough and Ready, turning the station into neutral ground and a shared port of interest.
Through a mix of tribute, firepower, and mutual benefit, HV operates out of a designated quadrant of the station known as the Armory Deck, maintaining their own hangars, barracks, and encrypted comm arrays while respecting R&R’s sovereignty over the rest.
Commander Ursus is known to regularly meet with R&R leadership, and while tensions flare occasionally, the alliance has so far held—based on credits, guns, and very clear boundaries.
Officially, HV operates as “high-threat freight reinforcement specialists” under shell contracts with Crusader Industries and certain Hurston-aligned shadow subsidiaries. Their operations include:
Unofficially, Hammer’s Vengeance uses Stanton’s overworked security forces as cover for hijackings, deep smuggling runs, and asset denial raids on competing PMCs. They’ve mapped every asteroid cluster and comms blind zone in Crusader’s orbit—and they use that map to kill quietly.
Hammer’s Vengeance operates under a hardened doctrine built around flexibility, intimidation, and shock tactics. Their forces are divided into three strategic pillars:
HV fields a mix of C1 Spirit transports, Hercules-class gunships, and Rafts—all heavily modified for rapid deployment, onboard suppression fire, and modular cargo roles.
These vessels are often run in deceptive configurations, disguising true firepower behind clean transponders and civilian-facing manifests—until the kill order is given.
For planetary operations, Hammer’s Vengeance deploys rapid-assault teams using Pisces, Cutlass-line, and Spirit-line ships.
Ground units are trained in fast entry, target isolation, and ruthless asset recovery. HV operations rarely last long—and they rarely leave survivors when the job is dirty.
HV’s strike doctrine combines precision, misdirection, and brute force.
Hammer’s Vengeance favors asymmetry, ECM interference, and shock value—often staging vicious first strikes and ambushes from unexpected vectors. Their fleet tactics emphasize “fleet bleed”—where the target is bled dry logistically and emotionally before being vaporized or boarded.
Their signature fleet formation—The Vengeance Line—uses reinforced freighters as mobile command nodes, backed by strike wings and ECM support to create layered kill zones in active corridors.
Inside HV, Commander Haldor “Hammer” Ursus is less a CEO and more a warlord-philosopher. He maintains a culture where results matter more than ideology, and betrayal is remembered longer than loyalty.
The internal code is rarely spoken aloud, but everyone knows it:
“Protect your own. Get paid. Leave nothing owed.”
Promotions come from victories, not politics. The crew is fiercely loyal, not because of patriotism—but because Commander Ursus always brings them back richer than they left.
Ursus himself still leads select operations from the bridge of The Revenant, a repainted Polaris Corvette that’s more legend than ship.
HAVE Command Protocol // Redacted for Civilian Review // Version 2.3-A
Purpose Over Politics.
We are not aligned.
We are not beholden to banners, bureaucracies, or broken chains of command.
We are not pirates, rebels, or corporate muscle-for-hire.
We are Hammer’s Vengeance—a precision-strike, logistics-integrated private military organization, specializing in high-risk freight movement, multi-environmental ground conflict, and spaceborne interdiction.
Where supply chains collapse, where borders erode, where strategy falters—we insert certainty.
Our Mission Profile:
Freight Security & Tactical Delivery
– Reinforce fragile lanes with armed logistics capable of response, retrieval, or retaliation.
– Escort, extract, and defend strategic cargo under any environmental or political condition.
Combat Ground Operations
– Deploy modular rapid response teams for facility clearance, site control, or orbital-down incursions.
– Execute threat containment, personnel retrieval, or neutralization with minimal collateral.
Fleet Interdiction & Zone Enforcement
– Establish dominance in contested space through coordinated ship-group action and comms disruption.
– Employ escalation protocols with scalable force application—from warning pass to vapor trail.
We Operate Where Others Refuse.
We thrive in low-support environments, unstable sectors, and black-listed jump corridors.
We move without dependence on local logistics, and require no escort.
We complete contracts. We stabilize chaos. We shift balance.
Core Principles:
1. Loyalty to the Line.
Our allegiance is to operational integrity, crew continuity, and contract closure. We don’t abandon our own.
2. Pay Defines Priority.
We are professionals. We take what we’re paid to take. No more, no less. Ethics without structure is chaos. We choose structure.
3. Leave No Asset Unclaimed.
Whether data, cargo, ground, or dignity—everything has tactical value. We leave no advantage on the field.
Our Clients Know:
We respond before the signal reaches central command.
We don’t ask permission to complete objectives.
We finish engagements with clear status: Secured, Delivered, or Removed.
We’ve operated under UEE privateering commissions, corporate endowments, and black-chamber taskings.
We’ve protected frontier colonies and silenced civil wars before they reached the newsnets.
Our name doesn’t appear in the headlines—because we end stories before they begin.
Hammer’s Vengeance Is Not A Threat.
We are a solution. A scalpel in a world of blunt instruments.
A structure of discipline built from those discarded by lesser commands.
Hammer’s Vengeance.
Join the Line. Burn the Map. Deliver the Result.
