History

The 2589 Collective – Forging the Future, Honoring the Past.

Mission Statement: We are the premier supplier of high-grade ore and refined materials for industrial crafters across the verse. From the searing heat of a MOLE’s laser to the final delivery at a planetary trade hub,The 2589 Collective represents reliability, quality, and an unwavering commitment to the pilot in the chair.

Our History: Our story was not forged in a comfortable corporate boardroom on ArcCorp; it was fractured into existence by the icy reality of deep space and corporate negligence. Our founders were once the backbone of Shubin Interstellar’s operations in the tumultuous Nyx system. They worked the infamous ‘Glaciem Ring,’ a dangerously dense asteroid field orbiting Nyx’s primary star, long after planetary resources had been stripped bare. This ring, rich in Quantainium and other rare minerals, was a high-risk, high-reward prospect that Shubin was all too willing to exploit.

In 2589, this exploitation culminated in the Glaciem Ring Disaster. Relying on faulty, cost-saving scanner data provided by Shubin management, multiple mining crews unknowingly triggered a catastrophic chain reaction in an unstable Quantainium deposit. The resulting explosion tore through the asteroid, and with it, dozens of Prospectors and a capital-class support vessel. Lives were extinguished in the silent vacuum, lost not to the dangers of the ‘verse, but to the cold calculus of a mega-corp’s bottom line.

In the aftermath, Shubin Interstellar refused to accept responsibility, citing the inherent risks of the region. Their lobbyists on Terra ensured the UEE Senate inquiry was buried, and no justice was ever awarded to the families of the fallen.

From those ashes rose a new purpose. The survivors, bound by shared loss and a burning desire for justice, pooled their resources. In 2595, they foundedThe 2589 Collective on three core principles: Safety, Equity, and Prosperity. It was to be a corporation owned and run by the miners who risk their lives in the dark.

For centuries, we thrived where others failed, building a reputation for meticulous scanning and extracting the purest veins of ore. Our crews became legends in the mining community. Now, as of 2950, in a ‘verse more dynamic and dangerous than ever, we have diversified. To better serve our members and maximize profits for our crews, we have expanded into Industrial operations. Our new divisions in Salvage, Recovery, Refueling, and Cargo Hauling are not just new revenue streams; they are a promise to our members that we will always adapt, always support our own, and never leave a pilot behind.

“The Founder’s Message”
“You wanna know who we are? We are the number one mining and industrial supplier in the ‘verse. But that ain’t the whole story.

Some corps are born from a desire for credits. We were born from ghosts.

We come from a long line of rock-breakers, the kind who can smell a pure vein of Laranite through a ship’s hull. We used to fly the Shubin Interstellar colors, working a cursed block of ice and rock they called the ‘Glaciem Ring’ in Nyx. Back in 2589, the company got greedy. Pushed us too hard, gave us cheap, glitchy scanners to save a few UEC. The ‘Ring’ was packed with Quantainium, unstable as hell. We told them. They didn’t listen.

Then came the flash. A whole section of the belt went up. Good people, friends of mine, were turned to dust in a blink. Shubin called it a ‘tragic accident.’ The UEE called it ‘case closed.’ We called it murder.

We didn’t get justice. So we built it. In 2595, the survivors got together. We scraped together everything we had and founded this outfit. The rules were simple: the person doing the work gets the reward, and nobody flies into a situation we haven’t scanned seven ways from Sunday. Safety first, profit second. Turns out, when you do things right, the profit follows.

We spent the next few centuries proving it, becoming the most trusted name in raw materials. As of 2950, the ‘verse has gotten wilder. So we got smarter. We’re not just miners anymore. We’re salvagers, pulling life from the wrecks pirates leave behind. We’re refuelers, the friendly light in the darkness for a ship running on fumes. We’re haulers, making sure the payload gets where it needs to go. Every division we add is another way to keep our people safe, prosperous, and in control of their own destiny.

We don’t forget the fallen of ’89. Every ton of ore we crack, every wreck we salvage, is for them.

Welcome to “The 2589 Collective.” A Nautis, Pro Nautis.

Manifesto

*The Manifesto of The 2589 Collective
(Founded SEY 2595)*

*Forging the Future, Honoring the Past. A Nautis Pro Nautis
A COVENANT FORGED IN ICE AND FIRE*

We are asked who we are. We are miners, haulers, salvagers, and refuelers. We are the premier industrial supplier for crafters across the verse. But that is what we do, not who we are.

Who we are was born in the silent scream of an exploding asteroid. Who we are was forged in the cold vacuum of corporate negligence and cemented by the deliberate inaction of a deaf UEE Senate. We are the living memory of the Glaciem Ring Disaster of 2589. We are the justice that was never given. We are the promise that it will never happen again.

We are The 2589 Collective. This is our vow.

OUR THREE CORE TENETS
Our laws were not written in sterile boardrooms on ArcCorp; they were written in the blood and loss of our friends and family in the Nyx system. They are absolute.

I. THE SANCTITY OF THE CREW

Before profit, before contracts, before quotas, there is the crew. A human life is not a line item on a balance sheet. We were sent into the Glaciem Ring with faulty scanners and false assurances by Shubin Interstellar because it was cheaper than ensuring our safety. They gambled with lives to save a few aUEC.

In the Collective, we declare this to be the ultimate corporate crime. The pilot is the most valuable asset, not the ship. Every flight plan will be vetted. Every asteroid will be scanned seven ways from Sunday. Every member has the absolute right to refuse a job they deem unsafe, without question or penalty. We will never leave a pilot behind. We will never trade a life for credits.

II. THE VALUE OF THE WORK

The wealth of the ‘verse is not generated in the high-towers of Terra; it is carved from asteroids, salvaged from wrecks, and hauled across dangerous starlanes by the men and women in the cockpit. Those who take the risk and do the work deserve the rewards.

We were once disposable labor, our efforts enriching executives we would never meet. No longer. The Collective is owned and operated by its members. The hand that guides the mining laser shares in the profits of the ore. The pilot who recovers the derelict claims their stake in the salvage. There are no distant shareholders. There are no parasitic executives. Leadership is a responsibility earned through trust and competence, not a title bought with influence. We are governed by the crew, for the crew.

III. THE PURSUIT OF TRUE PROSPERITY

Prosperity is not merely the accumulation of wealth; it is the foundation of independence. It is the freedom to work with dignity, to live with security, and to never again be at the mercy of a negligent mega-corporation.

For centuries, we mastered the art of mining, building a reputation for reliability that Shubin Interstellar could only dream of. As of 2950, we have expanded this principle. Our expansion into Salvage, Recovery, Refueling, and Cargo is not a diversification of assets; it is a fortification of our independence. Each new division is another pillar supporting our community, another revenue stream flowing directly to our members, and another service that makes the ‘verse safer and more honest. We build our own future, beholden to no one.

OUR PLEDGE TO THE VERSE

To our clients and partners, we offer this guarantee: Our reliability is born from our discipline. Our quality is a product of our pride. When you contract with The 2589 Collective, you are not just hiring a crew; you are trusting in a covenant that places integrity above all else.

To those who still toil under the yoke of uncaring corporations, who see their safety margins shrink as profit demands grow, we say this: There is another way.

We do not forget the ghosts of ’89. Every ton of ore we deliver, every wreck we salvage, every ship we refuel is a testament to their memory and a defiance of the system that failed them.

*Join us. Stand with us. Forge the future with us.

Charter

*The Official Charter of The 2589 Collective
Motto: A Nautis Pro Nautis – For the Crew By the Crew.*

Ratified: January 1st, 2595
Founders: The Surviving Miners of the Glaciem Ring

Preamble
Let it be known across the United Empire of Earth and all lawless frontiers that this document constitutes the unbreakable bond and guiding principles of The 2589 Collective.

Our organization was not forged in the sterile boardrooms of ArcCorp, nor born from a simple desire for UEC. It was born from the ice, fire, and silent vacuum of the Glaciem Ring Disaster of 2589. We are the legacy of those lost to corporate negligence, the echo of unanswered calls for justice, and the living testament to the strength of those who work the darkest corners of the ‘verse. Where Shubin Interstellar and the UEE saw only acceptable losses, we saw family, friends, and a line that had to be drawn.

This Charter is our line. It is a promise to our fallen, a guide for our present, and a vow to our future. We operate by a simple, unyielding creed: By the Crew, For the Crew.

Article I: Mission Statement
We are the premier supplier of high-grade ore and refined materials for industrial crafters across the verse. From the searing heat of a MOLE’s laser to the final delivery at a planetary trade hub, The 2589 Collective represents reliability, quality, and an unwavering commitment to the pilot in the chair. Our name is our bond, and our reputation is our most valuable asset.

Article II: The Three Pillars of the Collective
All actions, contracts, and decisions undertaken by The 2589 Collective and its members shall be governed by three foundational pillars, forged in the memory of the Glaciem Ring Disaster.

The Pillar of Safety: Honoring the Past

The safety of every member is paramount, valued above any single haul or contract. Profit is the goal, but life is the prerequisite.

No member shall be forced to enter a situation deemed unacceptably hazardous. Thorough scanning, risk assessment, and intelligence gathering are mandatory before any high-risk operation.

We fly together, and we return together. Mutual support is not a request; it is a requirement. No pilot is left behind, whether they are disabled in an asteroid field or pinned down by hostiles.

The Pillar of Equity: By the Crew

The wealth of the Collective is generated by the hands of its members, and it shall be distributed accordingly. A fair and transparent system of compensation ensures that the member who performs the work reaps the rewards.

Leadership positions are earned through merit, dedication, and trust, not by corporate mandate. Every member has a voice and shall be heard on matters concerning the direction and well-being of the Collective.

All resources, from mining claims to salvage rights, are assets of the Collective, to be utilized for the benefit of all members, not the enrichment of a select few.

The Pillar of Prosperity: Forging the Future

We shall strive for excellence in all our industrial pursuits—from Mining and Salvage to Refueling and Cargo Hauling. Our work will be of the highest quality to secure our reputation and ensure continued success.

The Collective will continuously adapt and diversify its operations to navigate the ever-changing economic and political landscape of the ‘verse, maximizing profitability and security for its members.

We will invest in our own, providing resources, training, and support to help every member improve their skills, upgrade their equipment, and achieve their personal and professional goals within the organization.

Article III: Code of Conduct
A member of The 2589 Collective is a representative of the memory of the fallen and the integrity of the living. As such, all members shall adhere to the following code:

Act with Integrity: Uphold all contracts and agreements made in the Collective’s name. Our word is our bond.

Respect the Chain of Command: Acknowledge the operational command structure during joint operations to ensure efficiency and safety.

Engage with Honor: We are not pirates. We shall not engage in unprovoked aggression against non-hostile entities. However, we will defend our members and assets with overwhelming and decisive force when threatened.

Maintain Discretion: Operational details are to be kept within the Collective. What happens on the haul, stays on the haul.

Article IV: Ratification
This Charter stands as the supreme law of The 2589 Collective. It may only be amended by a majority vote of the full membership, ensuring that the organization remains true to its founding principles.

By joining The 2589 Collective, each member acknowledges this history and swears an oath to uphold this Charter, for the ghosts of ’89 and for the generations of pilots yet to come.

We remember. We build. We endure.
