Emerald is an organisation ideally for regular and casual players focusing on group play and organised events.
Emerald was founded on the premise of bringing like minded gamers together, with a focus on StarCitizen.
Many founding members know each other in the real world or met playing other games such as World of Warcaft and League of Legends. We are already active playing many other games awaiting Star Citizens Release.
When Arena Commander hits with lobby and team building support Emerald will begin setting up organised matches for its Members.
Emerald will progress from this point and evolve with the game. The early days of Emerald will be about exploring the Galaxy, finding treasures and resources with a plan to exploit them for the good of all.
When there is enough credits in the organisation bank an Emerald fleet will be bought for use in all Emerald missions (assuming this will be possible). I expect this to take time, so early days player ships will be used. A cool standardised fleet that will be known and respected in game is an aim. This will give the organisation something to work for and a voting system will be in place to for what ships will be bought first.
VISION
Emerald’s wishes to become a fun gaming community with the main focus being Star Citizen. . We want to give our members a platform that enables them to fulfill the role they wish in in Star Citizen.
Emerald will focus on group play on set dates and times, giving goals to achieve for its player base.
THE BEGINNING
Starting from scratch is a key goal. Starting from 0 credits and only a group of like minded individuals to begin with open to all forms of gameplay to make credits for the organization and themselves. It will start as a place for multi-crew/ship missions utilizing player ships. During the early days a donation system will be in place where you can pledge to the Emerald cause.
Using credits made from it’s donations, organisation ships will be bought for use in missions, with a view to making even more credits. This will then generate a steady income and fund an expanding fleet, suited to meet all roles and play styles within the game. This new fleet will then be used in future Emerald operations.
DIVERSE ROLES
With a name like Emerald, you can expect us to start out as miners . That is the early aim as it is assumed it will be a good way to make credits to fund other activities such as an active military, racing team etc
Emerald has many divisions, these will be revised as the game and player base grows – some examples are below:
Expeditionary Force – Finding and securing new resource rich areas (including derelicts) Primarily explorers.
Industries – Miners, crafters, Engineers, salavagers etc. Essentially aimed at exploiting what Emerald finds for maximum profit
Merchant navy – Traders, peddling Emeralds wares.
Military – Guarding Emerald assets and conducting industrial warfare if required. Using combat craft and marines.
Intelligence – Think spies, some of these members exist in other corps secretly gathering intel.
R&D – Info runners at a minimum and may be renamed – it depends how CGI implements research if at all :-)
Piracy is not the main goal, however should you stumble across an unguarded ship loaded with free credits, it would be rude not to take advantage – it is for a good cause!
We are currently recruiting for leaders in these divisions, in particular exploration and industries. If you wish to create a new division contact me and we can add it.
IDENTITY
Members will begin as mercenaries with all manor of personal ships being used by its members until the organisation can afford to purchase its own fleet. The plan is to create a standardised Emerald fleet with an identity.
Emerald fleet ships will be painted in the corp primary colours and carry our logo. When we have some they will be used for missions instead of your own ships so your wealth is not at risk. Different squadrons will have there own identity and style.
Citizens will know when Emerald ships are on a mission or flying past.
EVOLUTION
Within Star Citizens PU Emerald will grow and no doubt goals will move depending on how fun the different activities are in the PU.
Community feedback will be key on how Emerald progresses and what direction the organisation takes.
RECRUITMENT
Most members are currently based in the EU however recruitment is open and welcome all comers
ORGANISED EVENTS
Emerald will schedule two events each week which involve group play (think raid night). It is expected you attend one of these each week if possible, if you are unable please let us know on the forums as we are casual friendly. As the PU is still being fleshed out and the organisation grows pre-launch the dates/times for these events are not yet scheduled. Currently they will be scheduled around a working EU population., however should we recruit members from other timezone’s these rules will be revised.
GENERAL PLAY
Emerald can schedule missions on the fly and will not be restricted to the 2 events per week. Where possible try to group up with fellow org members, though it is not a crime to do as you wish.
We do not plan on being restrictive unless you are flying in an Emerald ship, in this case you may only partake in missions for Emerald.
FRIEND OR FOE
Emerald will keep a list of associates and allies. Anyone on this list is not to be attacked under any circumstances. Any organisations ships not in the list are considered fair game. Poking the bear is frowned upon unless we are at war. Only do so if it is absolutely too much fun or a greater gain to be had.
We are not pirates – but we do not want to rule out this gameplay, we want to make money for more ships and that may mean taking a one off opportunity.
EMERALD FINANCES
Emerald works on a donation basis, not much will be taken from pilots running Emerald missions – the amount is not yet determined and depends on SC economy. You may contribute as much or as little as you like in the early days.
Using cash from donations the organisation will buy ships for use by its members. These will have an Emerald skin/colour logo and are only to be used on Emerald missions.
ORGINISATION RULES – THE BORING BIT
1. Have fun – that’s an order
2. You may be in other corporations in the early game using your own ships. If the corporation grows large enough to fill all needs then this rule will be revised
3. Emerald ships must only be used for missions which benefit Emerald.
4. All members can run missions under the Emerald banner using any ship.
5. Any member above recruit can create missions for Emerald within certain financial restrictions (we may need mercs from time to time)
