Origins in Shadow (2795–2830)
BlackSpire’s story begins not with cannons and raids, but in the corrupt underbelly of the UEE. Founded in 2795 by ex-Navy Lieutenant Cale “Spire” Dagon, the group started as a clandestine smuggling outfit during the post-Messer era. Disillusioned by the corruption he witnessed within the military and the government, Spire deserted and gathered a crew of like-minded outcasts, mercs, and ex-corporate saboteurs.
Operating in the shadow zones of Pyro, Nyx, and fringe areas of Terra, BlackSpire began running high-value goods, intel, and stolen tech. Their symbol—a jagged black spire rising from a shattered world—came to represent rebellion against control, and the defiance of order.
The Fracture War (2860–2872)
As UEE tensions escalated with fringe systems, BlackSpire transformed from a smuggling ring into a paramilitary pirate syndicate. The organization played both sides in border skirmishes, selling weapons to revolutionaries and ambushing UEE convoys for supplies.
The Fracture War, a decade-long conflict between rival pirate factions in Nyx and Leir, saw BlackSpire rise as a dominant power. Under the ruthless leadership of Saria Vox, a former Advocacy turncoat, BlackSpire absorbed or destroyed dozens of smaller gangs, earning a feared reputation for brutal efficiency and loyalty to their own.
During this time, they began constructing hidden refueling and repair outposts in asteroid belts, derelict stations, and even abandoned research facilities—one of the most famous being “The Maw”, a repurposed mining rig that serves as BlackSpire’s shadow HQ.
The Corsair Pact and Corporate Raids (2920–2945)
BlackSpire co-founded the Corsair Pact, an informal alliance of independent pirate clans operating across Cathcart, Pyro, and unclaimed jump points. While the Pact never formed a central government, BlackSpire’s strategic planning and fleet discipline made them the de facto military leaders.
They evolved into a hybrid pirate corporation—hijacking shipments, blackmailing corporate outposts, and sabotaging terraforming operations from Crusader to Hurston. Their tech division, known as VoidSplice, gained notoriety for reverse-engineering RSI and MicroTech gear for pirate use.
UEE and Crusader Security both attempted numerous raids on suspected BlackSpire hideouts. Few succeeded, and none came away without losses. Rumors suggest BlackSpire has spies inside multiple megacorps, feeding them routes, cargo manifests, and R&D secrets.
Present Day: Whispered Legends and New Blood (2945–2955)
BlackSpire today is less a single crew and more a loose but loyal confederation of captains, smugglers, techs, and killers. Each swears an oath to the Spire Code—an old pirate creed rewritten in digital ink across the darknets of Stanton and beyond.
Their focus has shifted to high-risk, high-reward operations: intercepting prototype military vessels, deep-system salvage hauls, data heists, and even targeted assassinations of corporate execs. Their fleet includes heavily modified Corsairs, Redeemers, Cutlasses, and outlaw-engineered Polaris and Idrises.
To some, BlackSpire are legends. To others, they’re terrorists in sleek armor. To their members, they’re family. Ruthless. Loyal. Free.
They don’t fight for credits.
They fight for dominion in the dark.
For the right to write their own fate in the stars.

For Eyes That Dare
You’ve heard the stories.
Ships disappearing off trade lanes without a trace. Convoys shredded in deep space. High-value targets plucked out of guarded sectors like prey from a trap.
You’ve heard whispers of the BlackSpire—
And now, you’ve found us.
We’re not just pirates.
We’re not syndicates, gangs, or merc corps dressed up in corporate scraps.
We’re the edge of the blade that cuts through the lies of the UEE.
We are outlaws, born in fire and forged in vacuum, and we don’t kneel to crowns, corps, or credits.
WHO ARE WE?
We are raiders. Smugglers. Hackers. Warlords. Ghosts in the black.
We are the silent operators who hijack an Idris in broad daylight, and the loud bastards who burn a Hurston convoy just for the message it sends.
We are BlackSpire.
And we answer to no one.
