The year is 2897, about 27 years after the UEE Navy develops the Idris class frigates. They need a force that can carry out dangerous missions from these frigates, a force that could be one of the first to be assigned such a large vessel to themselves. They needed a squadron that could be assigned the most critical, high risk missions and succeed. So, they came up with the Blackstar Squadron, which was known for not only its precision and courage, but also their tactical brilliance during their service.

Blackstar continues to be the face of the UEE, until around 2942 when Squadron 42 is established. At first, Squadron 42 aimed to primarily focus on stealth. But with their advanced technology, came the persuasion and favoring from their oversight, which would ultimately lead to the dethroning of Blackstar Squadron after the oversight of Squadron 42 pulled some strings for Squadron 42 to be the new face of the UEE. This being said, Blackstar Squadron was now re-assigned to less critical missions, and as the year approached 2950, Blackstar Squadron (as a collective) made the decision to discharge from the UEE, refusing to serve a military that failed to value their skill and loyalty.

Taking ‘Blackstar’ with them, the (then) commanders of Blackstar Squadron, Admiral Weslepuff and Admiral Ashlocity, would go on to form: ‘Blackstar Mercenary Co.’, a shadow of their former glory, but no longer held by the bounds of an empire.
