History

Our goal as a group is to create a true community settled inside the universe of Star Citizen.
We draw heavy influence from the Mandalorians of Star Wars and feudal Japan, especially the teachings of Miyamoto Musashi’s ‘Book of Five Rings’. This is why we specifically refer to ourselves as a “clan”, rather than an orgnization. The sense of community and belonging to a group, who you know has your back, is what we are aiming for. With future SC development giving us base building, crafting and many other occupations, we are looking to expand from our initial mercenary focused clan and become this aforementioned community, united under the banner and colors of the Arashi clan.

Examples of clan interactions already taking place with our current community members:
Someone salvaging or mining in remote locations, and nearing their cargo capacity, will ask internally if anyone is around to do a cargo pickup so one can continue to mine or salvage. If someone is available, a cargo runner will show up at your location, relieve you of your filled containers, and restock you with whatever other supplies you might need, allowing you to continue your adventure. Profits will often either be split, or funneled to a certain clan member saving up for a specific ship that will benefit the clan fleet.
In the case of salvage, we often have some of our veteran 火 (Hi) members run high level bounties to generate large ship wrecks. 水 (Mizu) will be standing by with vultures to scrape said wrecks when the coast is clear, allowing us to make serious bank together. Or perhaps you have a valuable haul to transport and want escorts. The clan will have your back. Of note is, that while we often are online together, hanging out in VC, we often also play independently and call upon another and cooperate if the need arises. We value personal initiative and competence as much as we value cooperation and teamwork. And sometimes one just wants to vibe on their own.

Our core veterans are mostly combat focused, but we all dabble in all kinds of industrial game loops, too. To go full circle with the feudal Japan metaphor, 火 can be seen on one hand as our fighting force who can operate for other orgs, on the other hand as samurai protecting and fighting for the 嵐 Arashi village – members of our clan and the patrons of our tea house.

To give an insight into our role structure to display ways one can join us on whichever level of commitment they find suitable:

地 (Ji): Affiliates and prospects of the clan. You’re mostly a non-combat focused person. Perhaps ran solo for the longest time you’ve been playing SC and have ran into us and enjoyed your time with us. You can rely on our support in terms of logistics and we’ll gladly cooperate with you to make credits

水 (Mizu): A full member of the clan. You’ve enjoyed our time together so much you want to contribute to our community goal. Arashi is your main organization and you’re here to stay. If combat is your thing, be it FPS or flight, you can reach out to the clan to get trained in our comms and tactics and eventually rise up to become one of our core members. If not, you’re the economical and industrial backbone of our clan.

火 (Hi): A core member of the clan. You know our ways to a T and could even teach them to others. You enjoy being part of a well coordinated team and celebrate our W’s and ponder on our L’s and what we can learn from them together. You can also join the clan’s mercenary operations we sometimes run for other orgs and can help us make decisions on a larger scale as a clan. 火 operate on a semi mil-sim level. We take our tactics seriously. We see any source of tactics and strategy as valid, adopting what we deem useful to become the best fighters we can be.

風 (Kaze): This is more of a sub-role that can be attached to being 水 or 火. It’s a networking role, which simply signifies this person is someone you can reach out to if you want to hire Arashi mercenaries. 風 organize events internally and with other groups.
