First In. Last Out.
Founding
The 1st Orbital Mobile Infantry was born from necessity, not ceremony.
During the escalating border conflicts of the late 27th century, humanity faced a brutal reality:
Pirates, insurgents, and alien threats could not always be countered by slow-moving fleets or bureaucratic chains of command.
There was a growing need for fast, decisive planetary strike forces capable of dropping directly from orbit into the heart of danger — before resistance could organize.
Out of this demand, the United Empire of Earth’s Defense Council authorized the creation of a new experimental unit:
The 1st Orbital Mobile Infantry Battalion.
Its mandate was simple but deadly:
Drop first.
Secure landing zones.
Neutralize enemy forces.
Hold critical positions until reinforcements could arrive — if they ever did.
Early Deployments
The 1st OMI’s first major deployment came during the Sora’s Wake Uprising (2693), where radical separatists seized control of terraforming facilities on the newly colonized planet Sora IV.
The 1st OMI conducted the first mass orbital drop in combat history — landing under heavy fire, outnumbered three to one.
Despite catastrophic casualties on initial impact, the unit captured and secured all three primary objectives within 48 hours,
earning the nickname:
“The Iron Rain.”
(For the sight of hundreds of drop pods screaming through the atmosphere.)
The blood price was high — but the legend had begun.
Expansion and Evolution
Following the success at Sora IV, the UEE expanded the concept, creating additional Orbital Mobile Infantry regiments.
Yet none matched the brutal efficiency and esprit de corps of the 1st OMI.
The unit earned a reputation for:
Hard drops under impossible conditions
Minimal support operations
Absolute refusal to surrender or retreat
Throughout campaigns in the Pyxis Insurrections, the Kr’thak Outworld Raids, and the infamous Siege of New Varen,
the 1st OMI became the Empire’s go-to hammer whenever a planet needed to be retaken — or razed.
Modern Era
In the modern era, the 1st Orbital Mobile Infantry continues to operate as a semi-independent regiment,
available for official UEE deployments, but increasingly working alongside private contractors and independent colonies.
After repeated political infighting in the UEE Senate, the 1st OMI adopted a new motto internally:
“We answer to mission, not to politicians.”
They remain one of the few units trusted to operate fully autonomous when deployed — executing missions based purely on tactical necessity, not political optics.
We are the 1st Orbital Mobile Infantry.
We do not seek glory.
We do not seek fame.
We seek the line between civilization and chaos — and we hold it.
Where diplomacy falters, where fear grips the weak, where danger festers in the shadows of distant worlds — we drop.
From orbit to battlefield, from fire to blood, we strike first and hold fast.
We fight not for politics or profit.
We fight for survival.
We fight for each other.
We fight because humanity must endure.
We are the first to land.
We are the last to retreat.
We leave nothing behind but victory, ash, and silence.
Our creed is simple:
Everybody Fights. Nobody Quits.
We serve no throne. We kneel to no banner.
Our loyalty is to the mission, to the troopers beside us, and to the survival of those who cannot defend themselves.
We are forged in fire, sharpened in battle, and tempered by sacrifice.
We are the storm that falls from the stars.
We are the spear that pierces the black.
We are the 1st Orbital Mobile Infantry.
First In. Last Out. Always.
1. Duty Above All
Every Trooper of the 1st Orbital Mobile Infantry shall uphold their duty to the mission, their comrades, and the unit at all times.
Cowardice, desertion, or abandonment of responsibility is not tolerated.
2. Loyalty to the Unit
The strength of the 1st OMI lies in our unity.
Internal conflict, insubordination, or betrayal of fellow troopers is grounds for immediate dismissal.
3. Honor in Conduct
All members shall conduct themselves with professionalism, respect, and discipline, both on and off the field.
We represent the strength and honor of the Mobile Infantry at all times.
4. Mission First, Glory Second
We serve the mission — not personal fame, ego, or ambition.
Victory belongs to the unit, not the individual.
5. Fight to Win
Every drop, every engagement, and every battle must be met with full commitment to achieving complete victory.
Hesitation and half-measures have no place in the 1st OMI.
6. Protect the Innocent
Wherever civilians are at risk, it is our sacred duty to defend them without hesitation.
We are the shield against the darkness of the ‘verse.
7. No Trooper Left Behind
Every effort must be made to retrieve, assist, or evacuate wounded or fallen comrades.
We rise together, or we fall together.
8. Respect the Chain of Command
Orders shall be followed swiftly and without complaint.
Constructive feedback is welcomed after missions — not during active engagements.
9. Train Hard, Drop Harder
All members shall maintain readiness through ongoing training and exercises.
The battlefield rewards only the prepared.
10. First In. Last Out. Always.
This is the heart of who we are.
No trooper fights alone. No enemy stands unchallenged.
We are the 1st Orbital Mobile Infantry — forged in fire, victorious in battle.
