Karn Vorrakai is a product of the UEE military system, born on MacArthur to a family of imperial officials tied to the Navy. Brilliant but undisciplined, he graduated from the Annapolis Naval Academy with outstanding results in strategy and command. Quickly noticed, he was assigned aboard an Idris-M during the first skirmishes with the Vanduul.
He became famous for his tactical boldness during the Battle of Elysium IV, where he disobeyed direct orders from the command chain to rescue a civilian convoy. He saved over 900 lives but was reprimanded for insubordination. Rather than laying low, he submitted his resignation in a public letter denouncing the negligence of the command chain.
After leaving the Navy, Karn acquired a decommissioned Idris-P frigate, which he heavily restored and customized. It was renamed Valiant Eclipse.
