History

Founded in Crusader System after the boom TGAI grew from the original small outfit running on a few salvaged frames to a fully fledged and growing fleet. Many hulls are focused on transport and mining though others have a broader reach. The company today continues to focus on delivering to clients left behind by the MegaCorps in Hurston and ArcCorp.

Where the large players are slow to adapt TGAI was able to fill the gaps and provide a personal level of service that could not be replicated by the large concerns. Starting out with just the RSI Freelancer the company was able to grow bit by bit and later stretching into mining and hauling refined ore helped to further expand capability.

In later years RSI Constellations replaced the Freelancers and further new ground opened with freelance security work for the various systems dealing with threats from criminal factions. These moves gave the organization a somewhat “grey hat” reputation with local system security as we always tried to work to get justice for the individuals wronged, not simply large corporate concerns. That direction has pushed TGAI away from ArcCorp and Hurston over time and forged new bonds with Crusader and MicroTech.

Manifesto

TransGalactic Industries strives to help its members become self sufficient freelance pilots in the connected systems. Our goal is to help each member of the organization acquire the skill and hardware needed to perform their line of work to the best of their ability. When our members thrive so does the company. There are a wide range of opportunities within the organization and we welcome pilots that wish to explore additional areas. Our primary focus is industrial. Many of our space-frames focus on cargo delivery, small deliveries, and small-scale to medium scale mining. However we also maintain a number of vessels for security work as well such as ground security assistance as well as bounty hunting. Investigation and exploration are also areas we would like to expand into.

We are looking for pilots that respect the law, but don’t worship it. Getting your hands dirty can sometimes be part of getting the job done.

TGAI Policies

Pay structure for operations is generally a percentage of the profit from that operation. The ship owner is generally expected to reserve a majority of the profit for the risk of property and capital while crew are paid a specified percentage. In general percentage rates are paid for activity that is buy/sell profit related. Shares are equal divisions of the contract payout against the number of people participating in the task.

Baseline Rates:

Pilot for cargo operations: 28% of net profit
Pilot for mining operations: 25% of net profit
Pilot for combat operations: 1 share of total reward
Turret for cargo operations: 25% of net Profit or 40% / N for multiple turrets.
Turret for combat operations: 1 share of total reward
Turret for mining operations: 25% of net profit
On foot security operations: 1 share of total reward

These rates should be considered baselines and pilots / crew working any given operation can always negotiate different arrangements. For instance when a Mole is operated by 1 pilot and 1 crew they may well agree to a 50% split. This is fine and encouraged. We simply ask that in the absence of any other agreement that at least the baseline rates above are provided. In the case of cargo, please realize the owner of the ship must purchase the cargo and assumes all risk of loss. It is generally unreasonable to expect 50/50 splits on profit in such cases as crew has no exposure on loss.

The rules are not complicated:

- Do not cheat members of their pay or antagonize other members
- Do not engage in overt hostility to other pilots as a representative of the organization, group actions must be agreed to before they are announced
- Do not engage in piracy of other lawful players under the umbrella of our org, we do not endorse and will not support you in these actions
- Do not harass other players. Pad ramming, camping the spawn, and other crap behavior is not welcome. Conflict is enviable and accepted but don’t be a tool.
- Do not bring politics, or culture wars to the game. Know your audience and be respectful.
