Task Force 876 (TF876) traces its origins back to the late 2940s, a period
marked by both lingering instability following earlier conflicts and burgeoning
economic opportunities within the burgeoning Stanton system. The founding
members, a mix of former UEE Navy veterans disillusioned with bureaucratic
limitations and shrewd industrial operators seeking reliable security,
recognized a critical gap in the market. Standard corporations often lacked
dedicated, adaptable security forces capable of protecting high-value assets in
increasingly contested space, while purely mercenary outfits often lacked the
logistical acumen for sustained industrial support.
We are located in the farthest reaches of the universe, ever vigilant.
To the meek and defenseless, to the valorous and the kind, we are friend and guardian.
For those that prey on humanity, and take what is not given, we are a reckoning.
Forged in the asteroid belts and trade lanes of Stanton, TF876 initially focused
on providing convoy escort and static defense for independent mining
collectives and nascent transport companies operating in high-risk areas like
Pyro’s periphery or less-policed regions of Crusader and MicroTech’s orbits.
Their early reputation was built on professionalism, discipline, and a pragmatic
approach – fulfilling contracts effectively and discreetly.
Seeing the inherent synergy, the leadership soon formalized *an Industrial
Operations wing alongside the established Military Operations branch*. This
allowed TF876 to not only protect resource extraction sites but also to
operate them. Early successes in securing and managing asteroid mining
claims and small-scale salvage operations provided a steady stream of
resources, funding better equipment, ships, and personnel recruitment for
both wings.
Over the years, TF876 has expanded its capabilities. The Military Operations
branch now handles diverse contracts ranging from high-threat asset
recovery and targeted security sweeps to VIP protection and facility defense.
The Industrial Operations branch has grown to include efficient resource
extraction (mining), systematic salvage operations (from derelict recovery to
post-battle cleanup), and secure, timely transport logistics.
While primarily operating within the Stanton system and its adjacent jump
points, *Task Force 876 maintains operational readiness for deployments
across UEE space where contracts demand and profit aligns with risk*. They
have become known as a reliable, versatile independent organization
capable of projecting force and securing prosperity through a unique blend
of combat readiness and industrial efficiency.
More than mercenaries, more than miners. We are the shield and the engine.
In the unforgiving expanse of the ‘verse, we carve our own destiny through
strength, industry, and unwavering resolve.
We believe that true security and prosperity are intertwined. Our military
prowess ensures the safety necessary for our industrial efforts to flourish,
while our resourcefulness fuels our capacity to defend and project power. One
cannot thrive without the other.
Whether negotiating a salvage contract or engaging hostile forces, we operate
with discipline, precision, and adherence to our agreements. Our word is our
bond, our reputation our most valuable asset.
The ‘verse is dynamic, its dangers ever-changing. We embrace versatility,
constantly refining our tactics, upgrading our technology, and expanding our
skillsets across both combat and industrial disciplines to meet any challenge.
We seek profitable engagements, but not at the cost of our integrity or the
safety of our members beyond acceptable risk. We value calculated
aggression, efficient resource management, and sustainable growth.
Though our operations are diverse, our members are united by a shared
commitment to the Task Force’s success and the mutual support of our
comrades. We stand together, operate together, and succeed together.
