In 2456, SevastoCorp was founded by Igor Sevastoprom, following the passing of his father, Gregory. Igor inherited his father’s small mining operation in a dangerous border system and promptly liquidated its assets in 2455. While retaining the workers, Igor’s ambitious vision for rapid corporate expansion often came at the cost of employee welfare.
By 2492, SevastoCorp had become a dominant force across valuable resource-rich systems, though worker conditions remained poor. The unexpected death of Igor in 2493 sparked a multi-system wide strike, with workers demanding an election for the new CEO.
Tidus was Igor Sevastoprom’s only son and was set to inherit SevastoCorp after his father’s sudden death in 2493. However, his inheritance was challenged by the worker-led strikes. Tidus was not pleased with this turn of events. The strikes that followed his father’s death angered him, particularly because they brought the company’s expansion to a halt. Tidus shared his father’s focus on rapid corporate growth, at the expense of worker welfare. Despite his apparent displeasure, Tidus was ultimately forced to yield to the workers’ demands. He had no choice but to agree to an election for a new CEO, which was scheduled for the following year (2494).
In 2494, Heath Nox was elected as the new CEO of the corporation. Nox was in his forties when he became CEO. He had made a name for himself by leading a mining operation in the notoriously dangerous Pyro system for over a decade. Nox was known for his excellent treatment of workers and his ability to make quick decisions in times of need. This reputation spread across many systems via Spectrum. Over the next five years, Nox implemented radical changes to improve worker conditions and company culture. These included:
Heath Nox’s values and changes significantly improved SevastoCorp’s reputation. While the rate of expansion slowed, the company became one of the most sought-after employers in the industrial sector. His principles continue to guide the company, with CEO elections held every five years to maintain these standards.
Nox’s leadership marked a turning point for SevastoCorp, transforming it from a company focused solely on rapid expansion to one that prioritised worker welfare alongside sustainable growth.
