History
From the smog-choked skies of Hurston to the corporate spires of ArcCorp, the ‘verse is consumed by the ambitions of mega-corporations. They build their empires on the backs of an unsuspecting populace, creating a false sense of security and a monotonous existence. This is the world that gave birth to us.
Our founders were a collection of specialists—a data-runner who saw the corruption in MicroTech’s data hauls, a pilot who tired of shuttling cargo for Crusader Industries, and a former security contractor who saw the rot in Hurston Dynamics’ private forces. They all shared a singular revelation: the ‘verse isn’t a place of freedom; it’s a cage of predictable game loops.
The first “infection” was a simple act of defiance. A Hurston Dynamics cargo hauler was interdicted and boarded, only to find the cargo hold purposely left unlocked by an unknown crew member. Instead of a violent firefight, the crew simply confiscated the entire cargo manifest, leaving only a single jar of pickles in the empty hold. The pilot, confused and rattled, was thrust into an immersive game of psychological torment he would never have experienced otherwise. The act was a success, and the concept of Phage Nocturne was born.
Our reputation as agents of chaos grew, and soon the lawless frontier of the Pyro System became our new proving grounds. We are a phantom limb in the Stanton and Pyro systems’ corporate and criminal machines alike, a virus designed to remind the ‘verse that it is still a wild and unpredictable place. We are the nightmare of every risk-averse corporation, and the dream of every player who craves an authentic, unscripted experience. We don’t just take; we transform. We don’t just destroy; we reveal.

The Phage Nocturne Charter
Every member of Phage Nocturne is bound by a shared code. We are not bound by the laws of the UEE, but by a higher purpose that guides our every action.
1. Respect Above All Else
Respect is the core of our operation. We show respect to our fellow members, to those we encounter, and even to those we “infect.” We do not engage in personal insults, trolling, or harassment. Our professionalism is our reputation.
2. No Murder Without Cause
Killing is a failure of our methods. We do not murder indiscriminately. Our purpose is to transform, not to destroy. Lethal force is a last resort, reserved only for those who pose a direct and unavoidable threat to our mission or our members.
3. The Host Is A New Game
We are here to create new experiences. Our targets are not merely victims; they are hosts for a new game loop they rarely experience. Whether it’s a high-stakes negotiation or a bizarre scavenger hunt, our true victory is plunging others into the unpredictable chaos that makes the ‘verse so engaging.
4. The Contract is Sacred
When a contract is accepted, it is fulfilled without fail. Our word is our weapon. Betrayal of a contract is a permanent exile from the syndicate.
5. The Nexus is Absolute
The commands of the Nexus are the final word. Their will is our guiding star, and their strategy is our path to success. Deviation from a planned operation is a breach of this charter and will be met with severe consequences.
