Outland Security: Your shield in the ‘verse’s dangerous outlands. Independent professionals offering cutting-edge protection for cargo, VIPs, and assets beyond the UEE’s reach. We deliver security with military precision in a lawless galaxy. When the stakes are high, trust Outland Security.
Outland Security: A History Forged in the Periphery
Outland Security’s origins are rooted in the turbulent years following the expansion beyond the core systems. As humanity pushed into the less regulated and often lawless fringes of the UEE, opportunities – and dangers – multiplied. It was in the sprawling asteroid belts of the Pyro system, a haven for pirates and claim jumpers, that the initial seeds of Outland Security were sown.
The company’s founder, a former UEE Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant named Elias “Grim” Thorne, witnessed firsthand the inadequacy of official security forces in these remote and volatile regions. Corporations and independent prospectors alike were left vulnerable to predation, their hard-won gains snatched away by those operating outside the law. Disillusioned with the bureaucracy and slow response times of the UEE, Thorne believed a more agile and decisive security solution was needed.
His initial team was comprised of fellow veterans, individuals who had served with distinction in various branches of the military and possessed the skills necessary to not only defend but also to project force when required. They started small, offering protection details for mining operations and convoy escorts through dangerous sectors. Their reputation for effectiveness and unwavering commitment quickly spread.
As their success grew, so did their clientele and the scope of their operations. Outland Security expanded beyond Pyro, establishing a presence in other frontier systems like Stanton, particularly in the less secure zones around Crusader and its moons. They became a go-to for corporations seeking to secure valuable assets, independent traders navigating hazardous routes, and even individuals looking for discreet and reliable protection.
During the height of the Vanduul incursions into systems like Vega and Orion, Outland Security, while not a frontline military force, played a crucial role in supporting evacuation efforts, securing vital infrastructure behind the lines, and even conducting daring rescue operations. Their experience in operating in hostile environments proved invaluable, and their willingness to take on high-risk assignments earned them both respect and a degree of notoriety.
However, Outland Security has not been without its controversies. Operating in the grey areas of UEE law, they have occasionally been accused of employing methods that push ethical boundaries. Rumors persist of preemptive strikes against potential threats and a fierce, almost ruthless, approach to dealing with hostile elements. While never officially substantiated, these whispers have contributed to the company’s somewhat shadowy reputation.
Despite these controversies, Outland Security remains a significant player in the private security landscape of the ‘verse. Their distinctive logo is a recognized symbol of a company that delivers results, no matter the cost. In an era where danger is a constant companion in the vast expanse of space, Outland Security offers a stark and unwavering promise: security, earned in blood and steel, in the untamed reaches of the galaxy. They are a product of the frontier, forged in its fires, and ready to face whatever threats the Outlands – or beyond – may bring.
The Outland Security Mandate
From the Periphery, For the Secured.
We are Outland Security. We are born of the frontier, tempered by its harsh realities, and bound by a singular, unwavering purpose: to provide security where the UEE’s reach falters and where the vulnerable are left exposed. Our existence is a testament to the inherent dangers of the ‘verse, a necessary force in the face of lawlessness and predation.
We believe:
In the Right to Security: Every individual, every enterprise, has the fundamental right to operate and thrive without the constant threat of violence or theft. Where this right is not guaranteed by established powers, we step into the breach.
In Decisive Action: Hesitation in the face of threat is a luxury the Outlands cannot afford. We act swiftly, decisively, and with the necessary force to neutralize any danger to our clients and our personnel.

In Adaptability and Resilience: The ‘verse is a dynamic and unpredictable landscape. We remain agile, constantly adapting our strategies and tactics to meet evolving threats and operational environments, from asteroid belts to orbital platforms and planetary surfaces.
In the Value of Assets: Whether it’s a vital mining operation, a precious cargo shipment, or the lives of our clients, we understand the inherent value of what we are entrusted to protect. We treat these responsibilities with the utmost seriousness and diligence.
In Operating Within the Necessary Shadows: The frontier often demands solutions that lie outside the comfortable confines of established regulations. While we strive for ethical conduct, we will not allow bureaucratic constraints to compromise the safety and security of those we serve. We navigate the grey areas with pragmatism and a focus on achieving the objective.
We are not:
A Substitute for the UEE Military: We are a private entity, focused on specific security needs. We respect the role of the UEE military and cooperate when it aligns with our objectives and our clients’ interests.
Unaccountable: We are accountable to our clients and to our own internal standards of conduct. While discretion is paramount, we understand the need for transparency within our organization and with those we serve.
Our Pledge:
To those who seek security in the often lawless expanse of the ‘verse, Outland Security offers a shield forged in experience and resolve. We will stand against the tide of piracy, the machinations of corporate rivals, and the dangers of the unknown. We will be the unwavering guardians of your interests.
This is our mandate. This is our commitment. This is Outland Security.
