History

Founded in 2951, the Mining Associated Defense vows to protect any miners who have gone MAD over the piracy ruining their profits.

The organization was founded in April of that year after its two founding members instead of going mad over the continued piracy plaguing them on their mining runs decided to channel this energy into something productive and created this combined mercenary/mining corporation.

Manifesto

Mining Associated Defense offers to serve as the first line of defense against emerging piracy against mining operations in the Stanton system. After experiencing repeated incursions from hostile pilots, the MAD was founded to achieve this goal. Its goal is to bring mercenaries and miners together, so miners will have a place to contract mercenaries or search for any other form of support for their mining operations. Once the ship manufacturers offer long range scanning, MAD additionally plans to offer services for explorers as well, opening up a marketplace for information on valuable deposits.

Charter

Mining Associated Defense currently offers its members 2 types of services.

1: Miners can contract mercenaries for individual mining runs to serve as both protection and additional scouting support. Pricing will depend on the type of ship contracted as escort as well as the number of mercenaries hired.

2: Miners can seek the assistance of other miners to extend their scouting range and find more deposits as well as acting as a deterrent for potential pirates due to the increased risk of attacking two cooperating pilots. This option thereby offers security through numbers.

As of right now, miners can request the services of mercenaries via our Discord server which you can find on our Spectrum thread.

Additionally, the only commitment we currently require for participation in org activities or in order to receive org contracts is joining our Discord server.

Once the functionality is made available we would like to offer our services via in-game contracts as well, to ensure a safe payout and proper execution of the services requested.

Mining Associated Defense Code of Conduct

1. MAD does not require its members to list MAD as its main organization. Members are free to hide their membership and use this organization simply as a support network for mining operations.

2. Any breach of contract via either party (miner/mercenary) can be reported to the organization leadership. The incident will then be investigated and if needed, members will be punished for misconduct.

3. Members can earn promotions up to the rank of officer via the confirmed completion of mutual contracts with other org members or by confirmed completion of contracts with pilots from outside the organization.

4. A general level of respect in all activities is required from the members as well as outside contractors. Breaches of this rule will lead to immediate removal from the organization as well as blacklisting from all our services.
