HEATSEEKERS
“The Path is Forged.”

We are not mercs. We are not soldiers. We are fire-bound hunters—disciplined, faceless, and precise.

From the shadowed wreckfields of Pyro to the drowned cities of Ellis, we track the untrackable, silence the forgotten, and move without hesitation.

History

HEATSEEKERS: Clan of the Black Flame
“The Path is Forged.”
It is more than a motto—it is a philosophy. To falter is death. To hesitate is failure. A HEATSEEKER does not retreat, does not question the contract, and does not rest until the mark is sealed or the fire dies.

In a verse where the UEE plays empire, corporations write laws, and syndicates rot entire systems from the inside out—order is a commodity. One that’s scarce. One that needs enforcement. Not from the top down—but from the shadows up.

Enter the HEATSEEKERS.

Formed in 2792, in the wake of Imperiax Collapse and the bloody fallout from Messer’s fall, The HEATSEEKERS Guild traces its roots back over four centuries to the Outer Verge Conflict, when lawlessness swept the frontier systems beyond the Terran Core. Born out of necessity, the Guild was founded by ex-military operatives, mercenaries, and rogue enforcers who chose order over chaos, forging an unorthodox code to bring justice where empires had failed. The HEATSEEKERS are more than a guild. They are a clan—bound not by blood, but by fire. Initiation requires surviving the Flame Run—a silent hunt through an abandoned comms relay in deep Pyro, where contact with the Guild is severed, and the only way back is with proof of the kill. Survivors earn their Burn Sign—a callname etched into the Guild’s Ember Archive, recognized across bounty networks and feared on the grey channels.

““We walk the stars not for coin, but for balance.
We pursue the marked, not for vengeance, but for justice.
We fall only when the fire dies The Path is Forged, Always forward.”

The Guild carved a name in the darker corridors of Stanton & Pyro, taking high-risk, high-value contracts the Advocacy wouldn’t touch. When outlaw factions like Nine Tails or XenoThreat started rising, the HEATSEEKERS were already embedded—moving through asteroid fields and debris rings in custom modified starships, operating from blacksite bases in unclaimed zones.

They do not broadcast. They do not negotiate. Every mark is a debt owed—and the HEATSEEKERS are collectors.

The Guild is overseen by the Circle of Embers, a triad of unknown senior hunters who vet contracts and keep the creed intact. Rumors say one lives aboard a drifting Reclaimer in the dead zone between the Nyx & Pyro system. Another operates behind a black firewall within the MercNet contract board.

They work with no political lean. UEE, outlaw, corp—if the bounty’s just, and the trail is hot, they’ll take it. If you’re marked and you hear the engine hum in the black? It’s already too late.
“We hunt because no one else will. We pursue because the verse forgets. We do not turn. Always forward.”

HEATSEEKERS:RANKINGS

Circle of Ash (Rank 0 — Initiates)
Role: Unproven Recruits / Awaiting Trial

Description:
The Circle of Ash is the first tier of the HEATSEEKERS—those whose fire has not yet been tested, whose names are not yet spoken. These are the watchers, learners, and shadows-in-training. They carry no sigils. They are seen but not yet felt.

To rise from ash, they must endure the Trial of Flame and earn their place among the firebound.

“All fire begins as ash. Now burn, or be blown away.”

Circle of Flame (Rank 1 — Proven Hunters)
Role: Active Members / Flame-Carriers

Description:
The Circle of Flame is the backbone of the HEATSEEKERS—those who have passed the Trial of Flame, earned their Burn Sign, and now hunt under the full weight of the Creed. They are the fire realized: focused, relentless, and loyal to the mission.

Members of this circle take on live contracts, participate in Guild operations, and begin to forge their legacy within the Ember Archives.

“You are no longer the ash. You are the fire they fear.”

Circle of Iron (Rank 2 — Veteran Operatives)
Role: Senior Hunters / Squad Leaders / Enforcers of the Creed

Description:
The Circle of Iron consists of hardened HEATSEEKERS who have survived countless hunts, led fireteams, and upheld the Creed through both fire and void. These operatives are trusted with high-value targets, internal discipline, and mentorship of lower ranks. Their names are etched into the Ember Archive in iron—unshakable and absolute.

They do not speak much. Their records speak for them.

“Ash burns. Flame spreads. Iron endures.”

Circle of Stars (Rank 3 — High Command / Guild Council)
Role: Strategists, Lorekeepers, and Masters of the Creed

Description:
The Circle of Stars stands at the peak of the HEATSEEKERS. These are the veterans whose names are etched into Guild history—those who no longer chase glory, but shape the future of the Hunt itself. They guide Guild-wide operations, preserve the Creed, and carry the authority to mark, judge, or burn.

Rarely seen, always felt—their influence stretches across systems like constellations etched in flame.

“Above flame. Beyond iron. Written in stars.”

Circle of the Void (Rank 4 — Founders / Eternal Flamebearers)
Role: Founders, Myths, and Silent Overseers

Description:
The Circle of the Void is spoken of in hushed tones, rarely addressed, never challenged. These are the originators—the ones who lit the first flame, spoke the first Creed, and gave the Guild its name and purpose. Their presence is more felt than seen. They no longer answer to contracts. They answer only to the legacy.

Whether hidden in the deep black or watching through encrypted echoes, their eyes are on all who burn with the mark.

“We were the spark. We are the silence between stars.”

Circle of Embers (Rank 5 — Eternal Masters of the Creed)
Role: Immortalized Founders, Mythic Overseers, Guardians of the Flame

Description:
The Circle of Embers exists beyond hierarchy. This rank is not earned by skill or service—it is carved into time. Reserved for the original flamebearers and those who have become part of the Guild’s eternal foundation, members of this Circle are not commanders—they are icons. Their actions echo across centuries. Their decisions shaped the Creed.

They do not speak often. When they do, it becomes doctrine.

“We are not stars. We are what remains when they burn out.”

The Path is Forged, Always Forward.

Charter

HEATSEEKERS PUBLIC CODE OF CONDUCT:

“Always Forward.”
It is more than a motto—it is a philosophy. To falter is death. To hesitate is failure. A HEATSEEKER does not retreat, does not question the contract, and does not rest until the mark is sealed or the fire dies.

-Every member of the HEATSEEKERS lives by this Creed.

To uphold our honor, discipline, and reputation across the verse, the following rules are enforced:

1. Obey the Creed
“The Path is Forged, Always Forward”—never retreat, never betray the Hunt. Once a mark is accepted, it is pursued without hesitation or compromise.

2. Respect the Flame
Respect your fellow HEATSEEKERS. Internal conflict weakens the Guild. Disputes are settled by the Circle or in the field—clean, fast, final.

3. No Unauthorized Contracts
No freelance jobs that interfere with Guild ops. All high-value targets must be cleared through Guild channels. Side work is earned, not assumed.

4. No Civilians, No Collateral
We hit targets, not innocents. Sloppy work, collateral damage, or reckless fire will get you sanctioned—or burned.

5. Keep Comms Clear
In the field, clarity saves lives. In Guild channels, comms are mission-first. No noise, no ego.

6. Maintain Your Gear
You are your kit. Maintain your ship, armor, and loadout. We don’t send unprepared Seekers into the black.

7. Keep your Identity Private
When the Helmet Comes Off
Only three circumstances permit removal:
Ashfall (Exile):
Those who betray the Creed have their helmets forcibly removed in public ritual. Their names are struck from the Ember Archives, and they are branded Flame-Broken.
Return to Ash(Death):
If a Seeker falls in service to the Creed, the Circle of Embers may remove the helmet in silence to record their face one final time—for remembrance only, not display.
The Trial of Flame (Initiation):
Before sealing, the final moment of identity is given. A name burned into the Archives. A face turned away from light. From then on, only the flame remains.

8. Break the Code, Burn Alone
Violating the Creed or these rules automatically marks you as rogue. This results in otherwise known as “Ashfall”/having your flame extinguished. No appeal, no return unless redeemed cleansed through ritual. The same fire that forged you will find you.

Live sharp. Fly silent. Hunt clean.

“The Path is Forged, Always Forward.”
