History

CDF Gabarra (AEGIS Idris-P)
The CDF Gabarra (official designation: AEGIS Idris-P) is a renowned capital-class frigate in the Civilian Defense Force (CDF), primarily stationed within the Stanton system. Commissioned during the early foundational period of Stanton, the Gabarra has served as a pivotal asset in the system’s security, participating in numerous significant engagements and critical operations that have shaped Stanton’s history.

Service History in Stanton
Since its commissioning, the CDF Gabarra has been continuously active, adapting to evolving threats and maintaining vigilance across the Stanton system. Its history is marked by key engagements that highlight its versatility and resilience.

Early Years: Establishing Dominance (2900s – 2910s)
The initial decade of the Gabarra’s service was characterized by confronting the prevalent lawlessness and establishing security for Stanton’s nascent colonization efforts.

The Klescher Swarm (2905):

Nature: A large-scale, coordinated pirate assault targeting Crusader’s orbital infrastructure.

Gabarra’s Role: Served as the central defensive anchor, utilizing its main railgun to engage and neutralize larger pirate capital vessels. Its deployed Gladius fighters (precursors to the F8s) actively engaged smaller, agile pirate craft.

Outcome: After 72 hours of intense combat, the Gabarra successfully repelled the attack, forcing the pirate syndicates to retreat and solidifying Stanton’s early security.

Ghost Runner Purge (2912):

Nature: Interdiction and dismantling of a clandestine smuggling network attempting to establish illicit trade routes via the Pyro jump point.

Gabarra’s Role: Utilized advanced sensor capabilities and executed complex maneuvers through the Arial asteroid fields to track and corner the elusive “Ghost Runner” fleet.

Outcome: The operation successfully disrupted the smuggling syndicate, securing Stanton’s borders against external illicit activities.

Period of Expansion and Diverse Threats (2920s – 2930s)
As Stanton’s economic and strategic importance grew, the Gabarra faced more complex and diverse threats, including organized hostile forces and unusual phenomena.

Siege of Hurston Skies (2928):

Nature: A hostile takeover attempt by a heavily armed renegade Private Military Corporation (PMC) targeting Hurston Dynamics’ orbital platforms.

Gabarra’s Role: Led the coordinated defense alongside UEE Navy and local security elements. Performed crucial flanking maneuvers under heavy fire, diverting attention and enabling allied forces to engage key targets.

Outcome: The Gabarra’s decisive actions were instrumental in breaking the siege and safeguarding Hurston’s industrial assets.

Nul-Sphere Incident (2935):

Nature: A bizarre, reality-warping anomaly manifesting near Wala, causing communications failures and ship disappearances.

Gabarra’s Role: Dispatched for reconnaissance and containment, under the command of Captain Aris Thorne. The crew deployed experimental drones and successfully devised a containment field to stabilize the anomaly.

Outcome: The incident was contained, preventing a wider system-level catastrophe, showcasing the Gabarra’s adaptability beyond combat operations.

Xeno-Recon Skirmishes (2940):

Nature: Interception and repulsion of unknown alien craft (speculated to be Vanduul or similar exploratory probes) attempting to breach Stanton’s outer perimeter.

Gabarra’s Role: Operated on the front lines, perfecting rapid fire solutions and defensive screen projections against agile, enigmatic adversaries.

Outcome: Successfully prevented any deep-space hostile intelligence from penetrating the system’s core, maintaining Stanton’s strategic secrecy.

Ongoing Vigilance: Modern Era (2940s – Present)
The Gabarra continues its unwavering service, engaging in critical defensive operations and maintaining the overall peace of the Stanton system.

High-Value Asset Escorts:

Nature: Regular missions involving the protection of critical research vessels, diplomatic convoys, and sensitive cargo through hazardous jump points and within the system.

Gabarra’s Role: Acts as a formidable deterrent and direct protector, leveraging its size and armament to ensure safe passage.

Search and Rescue / Disaster Response:

Nature: Provided humanitarian aid and emergency support during various incidents, such as mining disasters.

Gabarra’s Role: Its medical bay has frequently been utilized as an emergency triage and treatment center, saving numerous lives.

Routine Patrol Cycles:

Nature: Continuous presence throughout the Stanton system, from the gas giants of Crusader to the inner planets like Hurston.

Gabarra’s Role: Its consistent patrols serve as a proactive deterrent against piracy and aggression, contributing significantly to the system’s overall security and stability through its sheer presence.

Legacy
The CDF Gabarra stands as a testament to enduring defense and unwavering vigilance within the Stanton system. Bearing the marks of its extensive service, the frigate remains an active and vital component of the Civilian Defense Force, symbolizing the commitment to peace and prosperity in a sometimes turbulent universe.

Charter

CDF Gabarra Crew Charter: Guidelines for Service
This Charter outlines the foundational principles and operational rules for every member serving aboard the CDF Gabarra. Adherence to these guidelines ensures the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of our operations in defending the Stanton system. Each crew member is expected to understand and uphold these tenets.

I. Core Principles of Service
As members of the CDF Gabarra crew, we commit to:

Professionalism: Maintain a high standard of conduct, discipline, and respect for all crew members and civilians.

Safety First: Prioritize the well-being of ourselves, our ship, and our comrades in every action.

Teamwork: Recognize that our collective strength and success depend on seamless cooperation and mutual support.

Responsibility: Take ownership of our roles and duties, understanding our impact on the mission and the ship’s integrity.

II. Essential Operational Rules
These rules are critical for the smooth and safe operation of the CDF Gabarra and the well-being of its crew:

Quantum Travel Safety: Do not use elevators or jump on stairs or walk on them while the ship is in Quantum Travel (QT). These actions can lead to serious injury or glitches.

Respect for Authority: Always listen to and follow the directives of your superior officers. Their commands are issued for the safety of the entire crew and the success of the mission.

Clarification is Key: If you are unsure about any procedure, command, or situation, always ask your superiors for clarification. Never assume or act without certainty.

No Logging Off in Stations: Do not log off while actively seated in a turret, pilot seat, or any other operational station. This can cause critical system errors or leave stations unmanned during emergencies.

Emergency Respawn Point: Always set your primary respawn point to the Idris’s medical bay. This ensures rapid recovery and return to duty in case of an emergency.

Adhere to Chain of Command: For all questions, concerns, or requests, follow the established chain of command as outlined in the “Simplified Chain of Command” document. This ensures efficient communication and prevents overloading the Commanding Officer.

Hangar Cargo Elevator Protocol: Do not jump down the hangar cargo elevators. Use them properly and safely.

Turret Egress During Servicing: When the ship is undergoing rearming or refueling, please exit any turrets or stations you are currently occupying. This is crucial for safety and allows maintenance crews to perform their duties without obstruction.

Atlas Lander Placement: Never place the Atlas lander (or similar large vehicles) on the portside cargo elevator; it is prone to getting stuck due to clearance issues. Use designated loading areas or the starboard elevator if available.

III. Disciplinary Action
Failure to adhere to these rules can compromise ship safety, crew well-being, and mission success. Violations may result in disciplinary action, ranging from verbal warnings to reassignment or removal from the crew.

By joining the crew of the CDF Gabarra, you agree to abide by this Charter and contribute to our shared mission of protecting Stanton.

Duty, Discipline, and Defense.
