In 2439 members of the United Nations of Earth (UNE) felt that although the First Contact was a rather peaceful meeting between Man and aliens, there was a distinct possibility that that additional contacts may not be as amiable. A special task force was needed to seek out other possible alien life in the vast space and assess their capabilities and threat level towards Earth. A year later in 2440 Task Force Aerion, formally known as Task Force 1432, a massive fleet of over 4500 ships was formed and launched into the inhospitable void of space.

The task force’s mission prioritized deep space exploration in search of extraterrestrial life to analyze their threat level to the UNE. If a significant threat was discovered, the Fleet Admiral had the authority to commence a full-scale assault to eliminate the threat’s capabilities including but not limited to weaponry, intersolar capabilities. If unavoidable, permission to completely purge of the entire threat in its entirety was bestowed upon the fleet. The task force was slated to return home to report back to the UNE in 2490, but that never happened. An investigation was launched to track down the location of the Aerion fleet, but concluded that the entire task force was lost. In reality the task force was very alive, but had entered an uncharted and unstable wormhole. The fleet was flung into a distant sector of space that was thousands of light-years away from Earth. Stranded and unable to contact home the Fleet Admiral announced that they were be continuing on with the current mission parameter, but with a secondary objective of locating another wormhole to return home.

In approximately 2530 the Task Force came upon a hospitable but uninhabited planet. The Fleet Admiral sensing restlessness within the fleet from the numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact Earth, ordered the landing of 25% of the fleet in order colonize the planet. As expected the growing tension and restlessness was replaced with excitement colonization. Word spread like wildfire throughout the entire fleet of the wonderful terrain and atmosphere that the unknown planet held. Soon more were clamoring for permission to descend from orbit, forcing the admiral to authorize further colonization of the planet. By the year 2540 it was determined that it was in the Fleet’s best interest to at least establish a base of operations, the admiral announced to the entire fleet and planet of the establishment of the Aerion Republic. The planet was also bestowed the name Novam Terram with its capital named Auxium after the rising-star Rear Admiral [REDACTED], also known as Auxiorion who lead the colonization efforts. Along with the declaration, the fleet was restricted into three divisions: Aerion Space Command, Aerion Industry, and Aerion Expeditionary in an attempt to further raise the morale of the populace and rally support for the newly formed space nation.

Six years later in 2546, a small squadron composing of frigates and a single destroyer discovered a wormhole and immediately contacted newly formed Aerion Space Command (ASC). Due to Fleet Admiral [REDACTED] being ill and rendered unable to command, The now Vice Admiral Auxiorion stepped into the position and immediately ordered more ships to the wormhole and to enter it immediately. Utilizing cutting edge communication technology, the medium-sized squadron remained in contact with Command throughout the entire 82 hour journey and finally exited. At first the crew was saddened believing it was another warp failure, but after tuning into various frequencies they soon realized that they were back in their home galaxy. Their joy was soon met with dread as they learned the various events that had occurred in the absence of the large task force from this part of the galaxy. From the discovery and cold war between Earth and the Xi’An Empire to the First Teverin War. In addition, the establishment of the United Empire of Earth (UEE) under the reign of Ivan Messer was a serious blow to the hope of reintegration with the Earth forces. Due to the passing of Fleet Admiral [REDACTED] from his grave illness, Auxiorion was promoted Fleet Admiral of ASC and determined that it was in the fleet’s greater interest to remain an independent nation and ordered an outpost base to be built in the now former home galaxy of the fleet.

Not long after Omega Base was completed in the old galaxy, a small patrol of UEE Navy forces scouting the region discovered the asteroid outpost. The contingent soon began hailing the base after noticing strangely similar ships and technology, and determined that the lost Task Force 1432 was what they had come upon. After contacting UEE command the discovery of Task Force Aerion managed to reach the ears of Imperator Messer. The order was handed down to seize the asteroid base and capture its rogue inhabitants and soldiers alive. Just as the order was given to the contingent, the Asteroid Base Omega had also received its own set of orders. Coming down straight from Aerion Space Command, the base was to fend off the UEE forces and that the Aerion Rapid Reaction Strike Force (ARRSF) was to arrive in approximately 80 hours. Although hesitant to fire at once fellow citizens of Earth, the Base commander Rear Admiral [REDACTED], known as AngusTheCat for his love towards the feline creatures, resolutely gave the command to engage and repel the UEE forces. The UEE were swiftly thwarted with moderate damage to a frigate and the base only suffering minor casualties . The enraged Imperator Messer ordered the deployment of a large punitive fleet to destroy the asteroid base. A formal declaration sounded throughout the Empire that all Aerion forces were to be seen as enemies of the Empire and to be met with immediate destruction. Severely outnumbered, Rear Admiral Angus valiantly defended Omega Base losing 3 frigates and scores of fighters in the opening salvos of the conflict. Just when all seemed lost, the ARRSF led by Vice Admiral Mephiston, given the title of ‘Undertaker’ by the men under his command, exited warp taking the UEE forces by surprise. Swiftly cutting deep into enemy lines Mephiston, who specialized in gritty boarding tactics, deployed ARRSF Marines to UEE command ships throwing the punitive task force into disarray. The large space battle concluded with the decisive victory of the ARRSF, the rescue of Omega base, and the capture of several UEE vessels. Although extremely angered by the result of the skirmish, the Imperator was worried about the Tevarin and Xi’An forces and decided to establish an armistice with the Aerion Republic.

In the year 2792, the UEE is finally reformed. Imperator Messer XI has been overthrown. Erin Toi of Earth becomes the new Imperator with a promise of a new age. The armistice was voided and replaced with a permanent, but secret, peace agreement.
